Pablo M (mx) wrote: I love how this film combines optimism with realism. The non-profit world is portrayed just as humanly as the political world and big business. There are no real good guys or bad guys, just people doing their things and sometimes - when they show their better sides - make a big miracle happen together :)
Mike C (fr) wrote: Wow, not even five people have rated this one on imdb, and no one really has rated it on flickster/facebook either. I really wanted to like it, and gave it a generous rating, but it's just a little too much. The town is a little too quaint...if it's going to be that small and have that much going on, well I don't know what to say. A whole lot takes place in this movie, in this small town, with these few people, in about eight hours. On top of that, the twists are fairly predictable or disheartening. It does accurately capture a few smalltown elements, and there is a certain grittiness to it, much like Larry Brown novels. Bre Blair is a super fox and fits the role of redneck queen of sorts well. I finished it with no problems and liked that not everything was pleasant, but it's just too busy and unbelievable to be taken too seriously.
Bily T (fr) wrote: How To Train Your Dragon is an okay movie I wouldn't say it's the best DreamWorks movie like what everyone says about it but it's no way the worst as they have been worse DreamWorks films before. This film has a good story not DreamWorks good but just good, a good set of characters, a great set of cast members, as always for DreamWorks amazingly done animation, some funny jokes and a great soundtrack. But problems with the film is that the story is a bit cliched I mean not all of the film has cliches but most of the time there was some cliched. Another problem is that not all the jokes were that funny I mean there are some funny jokes but not all of them hit my mark like how they should do but they just don't and I don't get that. Now that I've now finally have seen all the 2010 DreamWorks animated films I have to say that I find Megamind as my favourite from DreamWorks that year How to Train Your Dragon is in the middle and Shrek forever after is the worst from the year. Now if I would recommend you watching it or not is a really hard thing to think about I mean if you are a fan of DreamWorks you can give it a shot, fans of Dragons in general can have a go, any fans of the original book the film is based on they can have a shot too but if anyone is not those kind of people then this isn't the movie for you.I give How to Train Your Dragon a 7.5 out of 10 not a terrible movie but is not a good movie if you want to watch it I'd give it at least one watch before giving your own thoughts on it.
Simon D (mx) wrote: I knew this was a love story/musical so didn't have high hopes for it but I was pleasantly surprised. As the pure genius of the beatles songs comes flooding back you can't help but get into it. It does get a bit freaky too with all the psycadelic era songs, which is done pretty well. Not all of the performers do credit to the songs but in general it's quite good, for a love/musical.

Matthew M (br) wrote: It's a movie. Super Straight forward plot about an old man becoming a vampire and some youngins trying to harsh his new found high. Also, Ron Pearlman wants a nose job and his rich dad won't pay for it except through inheritance.
James H (fr) wrote: The rather idiotic plot kills this one off shortly after it begins. The acting isn?t very good, it?s not as biting or funny as I am sure it intended. It has too many slow spots and the premise wears thin very quickly.

Tanya M (us) wrote: tacky, messy, poorly acted, and with a shambles of a plotline. James Spader is the standout, the rest is endless dross. Why does David set the house on fire? Makes no sense.!! Enjoyed the music though.
Paul P (nl) wrote: Everytime i've heard of this film its been called a "war film" and that couldn't be further from the truth. It takes place during(after really) WW2. And its more about how the end of WW2 was only the starting point for Poland and how one man is tired of fighting. Zbigniew Cybulski is very impressive in the lead role. He has a natural screen charisma that makes him fascinating for every scene he's in. Probably helps to know a little about Polish history. But its commended that Wajda doesn't lay out all the issues for either side and simplify it for foreign audiences. I did the dumb thing by having 'Ashes and Diamonds' as the first Wajda film i've seen especially since this is the 3rd film in his Polish film trilogy but the praise for this one in particular made me jump to this one.

Kevin K (de) wrote: Feels like a generic horror movie I've seen before with overused horror tropes but at least it added a little character depth with their family problems cropping up here and there. *Possible Spoilers* Just having the demons appear as animals or dark clouds seemed pretty lame imo. Learning about the truth of what's going on in their house from sketchy websites and YouTube of all places as well as getting some foreign wannabe exorcist to cleanse the house were also pretty weak. The portal part in the end of the movie was pretty neat (sure beats driving back to the Grand Canyon) but just putting stones back didn't seem all that gripping and was pretty predictable. I personally think it would have been a lot better if a bit more could be done with their family issues and have had each of the Native American demons each latch onto one family member and exacerbate their vices to the limit and nearly kill them in a horror genre fashion (you'd probably have to add a fifth family member though to match the number of demons). And also have more scenes outside of the house take place to allow the family members' stories to intertwine more and have the family help each other overcome their own demons to dispel the real demons (cheesy but I like it). Also, no Kevin Bacon, because he has a corpse-face which is hard to look at. Just let him get a few years older and make him the fifth character, the grandpa.
