The film is directed by his son who is clearly ambivalent about his father. A lot of famous faces from that era are interviewed, with a lot of behind-the-scenes info. History buffs will love this.

There are basically two films running parallel, one telling the story of how the central couple got together and another examining them now as their marriage falls apart. Perhaps it says more about me but I loved the romantic past story and was just completely uninterested in the marriage on the rocks one. The performances by Williams and Gosling are excellent but I felt it never really explained why they were struggling and as a result I lost interest. Still worth watching to make up your own mind though.
Kevin S (jp) wrote: This is about a guy named mike is is an overnight manager at a motel which is owned and run by his parents. Becomes love at first sight when sue spends the night at the motel. They fall in love at least he does and he goes on a cross country trip to be with her when she goes back home. But she falls back in love with her old boyfriend and soon they are going to married. So now mine and sue go their deprecate ways to learn that the best thing for both of them is each other. If anything this was well acted out and it did have some funny parts even though at times you start to lose interest. Steve zahn and Jennifer Aniston did both put on good performances and woody harrelson is hillarious when you first meet his character. It's a not so perfect movie but still worth the watch and value of woody harrelson shooting Steve zahn In the neck with BB's. it's a decent romantic comedy.
