Zane U (ca) wrote: I loved Zift! This is the kind of stylized, gritty, and intelligent action movie that I wish had its own genre name so that I could then crown that genre as my favorite genre. Zift was just plain cool. It's a little bit like the original Crank, in that the man is living out his final night and needs to solve a problem first, but without the ridiculousness. I really liked how they found ways to intersperse some cool verbal stories into the narrative. I liked the cinematography. I pretty much liked everything about it.

J K (us) wrote: Saw this on HBO and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone knows what a top-notch actor Tom Wilkinson is and his portrayal of the deeply conflicted Roy Applewood who realizes he wants to be a woman is so well done you dont feel an ounce of awkwardness despite the incredibly awkward story premise. Jessica Lange's best performances always hinge around playing a deeply traumatized woman and she does wonderfully here as Applewood's wife, Irma. How would you feel if your husband or wife woke up one day and told you they wanted to be the opposite sex then had the fortitude to actually follow through with the operation? Quite jarring, quite sad and worth watching just for Wilkinson's performance alone.

Billie S (ca) wrote: The movie shows the dark side of contemporary rural Britain, in communities where crime is uncontrolled and drugs, intimidation and showing power is accepted as part of everyday life. Not so good movie about revenge which blended the social realism and supernatural elements, interspersed with the murders, jumbled by flashbacks and filled with unpleasant and stupid people.
