(mx) wrote: Darling Companion is a slow boring romantic comedy i sat with the wife and watch and sad to say it was my choice because i saw that it had Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline and some other A list actors but yet again was this disappointing. They should have called this Lassie the missing dog.It was slow and boring and did not have anything really funny. It should be removed from the Netflix library.Diane Keaton while driving back from the airport with her daughter spots a dog and rescues the dog and the do was found on the freeway and they end up having the dog has the family pet and then they call the dog freeway. One day while on his morning walk the husband answers his mobile as he normally does and looses the dog and then the whole story because we have to find the dog.Look i like pets and dogs but this is a boring concept for a movie. The jist of the movie the search for the dog brings the couples together.Do not bother with this movie.
(mx) wrote: What the hell happened? I would have given this movie 0 stars if it wasn't for the fact that Robert Englund's brilliant acting managed to shine through despite the horrible script. The rest of the actors should be ashamed of themselves. I've seen more convincing drama from high school theater classes. Not to mention the editing and sound quality was horrible. It looked and sounded like it was made in the 1980's. The plot went nowhere and was confusing as hell to follow. No wonder this was a straight-to-DVD release. Don't waste your time or money.

(es) wrote: it gets 5 stars because it is so bad that it is entertaining. i have no idea if it was intended to be deliberately bad in an ed wood way, or if this is the best that the crew and cast could do. it reeks cheese. it has left me with a big smile on my face. not one to see if you want class entertainment.

(au) wrote: Not the best of Amicus's "onimbus" horror films but the first and fourth stories are quite good and the second one is fairly interesting, as well. The third, however, is really just rather ridiculous. Burgess Meredith, Jack Palance and Peter Cushing are good, as always, and the dearly missed Freddie Francis directs it all with a clear, creepy style. Fun stuff that I remember catching on television when I was probably ten or eleven.
(ru) wrote: Good stuff! Tim Burton does it again, a rehashing of a classic horror mystery right at the end of the decade. Danny Elfman nails the haunting score that we have come to know and love in Tim Burton films. Johnny Depp jumps into the seat of the detective Ichabob Crane and unlike the cowardly one from the Disney film, this one is locked and loaded and feels fairly confident but a troll. A bit awkward, a bit crazy, our hero has a dark backstory. The plot is pretty good. Somewhat predictable at times, but not at all overall.
