Doug Stanhope: Oslo - Burning the Bridge to Nowhere
Recorded in an abandoned factory in the Grünerløkka suburb of Oslo, Norway, this performance is as spontaneous and unhinged as anything Stanhope has ever done. Originally a sewing machine factory converted to a German WWII bunker, the setting for Oslo is anything but conventional. Whereas most comedy specials are filmed on an elaborate stage, Stanhope and Nikon Norway filled a dilapidated industrial space with lights and folding chairs, ultimately allowing the material be the focus of this release.

(it) wrote: Ha, ha, the critics hated it. Don't know what to think about this one. Goes a bit far over the edge about "getting the girl", right? I mean, the boy is sick...
(es) wrote: I love stoner movies but this stoner movie is stoned stupid.
(fr) wrote: Do not watch. Seriously bad. Tim Roth is a twitchy mess.
(nl) wrote: well, i have to say...the title is a great plot synopsis.
(gb) wrote: A flawed movie but it has an incredible score by Carter Burwell and Jeremy Irons' performance is one of the best of his career. The director was trying a little too hard to capture what must be a dizzying novel.
(gb) wrote: Hard boiled. Pretty much unmemorable.
(de) wrote: "You have to get up pretty early in the morning to catch the Prince of Thieves.""But it IS pretty early in the morning!!"The most entertaining sword & sandal flick ever made, largely because the cast are in on the joke. The sets are cheesy, the budget minimal, and everyone knows it and nothing is taken seriously. References to Hawaii Five-O, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Laugh-In, and Loony Tunes among others that pepper the script add to the silly fun. Monique Gabrielle is alternately adorable and sexy in a dual role while chisel-chinned John Terleskey mugs and wisecracks his way as the title hero. The DVD commentary is a hoot as Terleskey, co-star Toni Naples, and director Jim Wynorski reminisce about the 3-week shoot in rural Argentina, while pointing out a bald tire and parked Volvo in various shots.
(us) wrote: I remember this being one of the better coming of age movies I have seen. I seemed more like something john hughes might of done in its tone of teen angst and trials of growning up. I wish this movie would be on way more often. It has been awhile since I have seen it but I would recommend this little known movie that makes you think.
(gb) wrote: I love this movie. Nikko(Nolan Gerard Funk) is sooooo hot! The songs are awesome. "Everything can change", "Don't tell me", "Dance with me" and "Just Freak" are my fave songs in the movie!
(au) wrote: Bruce Lee at his glorious best. A straightforward but exciting martial arts spectacle with the perfectly cast Jim Kelly and John Saxon in support. The top notch villains add the icing on the cake.
(ag) wrote: In spite of great casting, without James Whale at the helm the overall result is campy and less artful. Not a horrible film but not in the same league as Whale's Frankenstein or Bride of Frankenstein.
(gb) wrote: Muy buena actuacion de Liam Neeson, como siempre, una peli muy entretenida.8/10
(es) wrote: A curious hybrid of late 70's supernatural horror and paranoid conspiracy thriller, and yet while it's not entirely successful as either still has it's share of creepily slow burning moments
(ag) wrote: Hot tub time machine isn't particularly funny although it has its moments. I really liked its attitude though, it didn't waste any time on back storeys or character development, it just got on with it - quite relentlessly actually. Part of the story was predictable but it's best selling point is that it doesn't even try to be preachy or have a moral to it, it is what it is. Recommended as something original with a couple of laughs.
(nl) wrote: Made me laugh and cry. Just the kind of film I love.
(ag) wrote: The first film was reasonable at best to be honestIf, this was fucking awful, it's the same old shit really, surprised Tamer Hassan and Danny Dyer didn't pop up, or Nick Nevern, and the same 5 people that star in all of these films, just mindless shite really. The whole Essex Boys thing has been done to death now (no pun intended) no more please. If you want to see a goo take on the whole essex Boys thing, watch Essex Boys starring Sean Bean, that was decent, Tom Wilkinson is also in it so that shows a decent story and was thrown at it.
