Adrian Z (ag) wrote: Good actors in rather pointless "thriller" about radio host (Williams) befriended by 14 year old child abuse victim who may not exist in reality, but who might actually be the creation of a mentally imbalanced woman (Collette). Williams' character seems to care much about this issue, much more so than any viewer reasonably might. Drearily photographed and staged, any encounters with the edge of the seat might be due to nodding off and falling off the couch.

Whoever said this was "visually striking" should get clamidia. And just because its a long-take, doesn't mean its a good one.

Brandon W (fr) wrote: Clint Eastwood's Space Cowboys is a great movie that is very interesting to see Clint Eastwood's take on the space genre. I'm glad to see that the film doesn't rushed through it just so that they can get to the space scene. The characters have been done before, but they are pretty enjoyable. The acting is really great, and the conversations that Clint Eastwood and Tommy Lee Jones have are one of the best parts of the movie, and they're really funny when they are on screen together. The movie has been done before, I mean heck, Armageddon done this premise which was an asteroid instead of a satellite, and that movie has been done before also. When it gets to the space scene, the effects look amazing, not perfect like Gravity, but very impressive looking. Speaking of Gravity, after seeing that for how almost realistic it is, it was a bit distracting to see how unrealistic it was like hearing sound for example. It did got a bit predictable when it got there, but I was still interested to see what's going to happen next. Space Cowboys is not the best space film, but it's probably one of the funniest space films that I had a great time watching.

Lee Anne W (ru) wrote: It seems like a farce, with super-rich Frenchies at a country house. Everyone is cheating on everyone else, even the help, and doors slam and people romp. But there's a layer of tragedy, and that French world-weary sensibility, and you watch knowing it all ends once the Nazis come marching along. Brilliant.

Alex r (us) wrote: Pumping Iron is the classic documentary about the sport of body building and follows Arnold Schwarzenegger as he competes for the title of Mr. Olympia. Aside from Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno is competing against him, and is one of the biggest body builders in the 1975 competition. Pumping Iron is a compelling film, one that documents an interesting sport. Nowadays, Mr. Olympia is different, but back in the 1970's, you can clearly see the sport for what it was, a pure expression of trying to craft a muscular physique. Now, bodybuilders seem to push boundaries that are absolutely insane, almost abnormal. With Pumping Iron, which follows the 1975 Mr. Olympia competition, you see bodybuilders with a more natural looking muscle build. I really enjoyed the film, and thought it was a fine documentary that chronicled this interesting sport. For fans of the sport, this is a must see, and it definitely gives you an insight behind the scenes as to how body builders prepare for the event. The star of the film is of course Arnold Schwarzenegger and he really steals the show here. I really enjoyed the film, and thought it was a fine documentary on this interesting sport. If you hold an interest in the sport, or are interested in the subject, Pumping Iron is an engaging film that follows song of Bodybuilding most important contenders of the 1975 season. This is a well thought out film, one that definitely shows us an aspect of the sport that we rarely see. Fans will enjoy this one, and it also might be a worthwhile viewing for non body building fans as well simply for the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger is in it.

Todd S (es) wrote: I've seen I Love Trouble several times and it never gets old. It is from the early 90s but is a story that is still entertaining today. Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts play competing reporters at different newspapers in Chicago. When a major story breaks, they both compete to scoop each other, but ultimately decide to team up when it becomes clear that their lives are endangered. Julia Roberts shines in one of her first leading roles, showing us what got her to be known as America's sweetheart. Nick Nolte is also fantastic. He is a very good actor who doesn't get many good roles anymore, because of his past. It's good to see him playing a likeable character instead of making a cameo as a psychotic drunk. I Love Trouble, and I love this movie. It's a great story with an excellent cast and thoroughly entertaining.
