Justin B (jp) wrote: A nice surprise. The execution is rocky but the premise is superb and is anchored by two great performances from actors I weren't convinced could act.
Anton K (ca) wrote: Nicely shot, this interesting Asian film from Hong Kong with good locations and views is still a bit long in the middle and, as it might seem, it has logic holes, when the unexplained things just happen. And, sorry, but a trained cop can actually miss while shooting in very narrow corridor?!.. Still, worth watching.

Matthew L (it) wrote: The Dark Backward is a work of sick, repulsive, genius. It might be the most disgusting, off-putting film I've ever seen, but it's a work of striking originality and daring. Imagine if David Cronenberg at his most gruesome decided to pen a comedy and you have something of an idea of what this is like. Bill Paxton gives a fascinatingly repellent performance.
Alex A (it) wrote: Sea of Love is one of the true hidden gems of the 80s, director Harold Becker creates a great modern noir film full of tension and energy and Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin create undeniably great chemistry on the screen.

The guy turns these people into puppets, and they have to try to get back to normal. It's a pretty simple story, and it's kind of cute, but not all that good in the end. It's just okay.

What an awful, unimaginative, predictable, poorly acted, poorly written, sophomoric piece of excrement! Can you tell I hated it in every way possible? What a complete waste of time and $$ ( I actually bought it based on the lone viewer review on this site) He should be banned for life for saying anything favorable about this awful mess. Do not spend a minute of your time on this high school production....or should I say Grammar school? Ken K.
