Kevin R (nl) wrote: Knock it off, pimp Two cadets attending the same police academy appear to be heading in separate directions. One becomes a star cadet and quickly achieves high ranks on the police force and functions as an undercover cop. The second cadet appears to have a minor role on the police force and struggles with episodes of violence. The two cadets paths are about to cross again in one of the biggest active drug cases. "Have you ever met a guy who may seem nice but may whack you at any minute?" Wai-Keung Lau, director of The Flock, Daisy, The Park, Women from Mars, Bullets of Love, Hero, The Storm Riders, and A Man Called Hero, delivers Infernal Affairs III. The storyline for this picture is outstanding and well delivered. Of the three Infernal Affairs movies, this and the first one felt the most like The Departed. The acting was outstanding and on par with The Departed. The cast includes Andy Lau, Edison Chen, and Tony Leung (one of my all time favorite actors). "Why didn't you shoot me in the head?" "I missed." The Infernal Affair trilogy is outstanding from beginning to end and reminded me a little of the Yakuza Papers (in terms of the quality from one picture to the next). The storyline and presentation of the characters is first rate and each film builds upon the previous installment. I strongly recommend seeing this entire trilogy. "I feel like beating people up today." Grade: A

William F (au) wrote: A film that rightfully returns to a faithful adaptation. It does skip or alter some of the more iconic scenes from the book, but it nevertheless keeps the tone and importance of the story. The characters are interesting again (along with a great despicable villain), the action is great, and the film's universe feels enchanting again while also bringing out its more darker and mature elements.

Gwendoline B (fr) wrote: Bon ok l'histoire est bien imagine, mais le film est pas de top qualit, et trop de gros plans, assez bizare, mais bon. Bof quoi

Tony B (nl) wrote: Whoever pitched this idea, I want whatever drugs they were on.

Luis Diego C (es) wrote: Agradecido de haber crecido en los 90.

Mary Kathryn S (jp) wrote: I cried so much through the movie!

ron W (it) wrote: This sequel is not as good as the first, but still funky as hell.

Charles P (kr) wrote: Straw Dogs is ultimately an offensive film because it is a two-faced film. It beats us over the head with a depiction of ethical barbarity, while being completely devoted to the gratuity of violence.

Andrey B (ca) wrote: Classic never dying action movie from the 80's as well as a must see during the Christmas period. It has entertaining story, very charismatic leads, both the good guy and the bad guy, superbly acted by Alan Rickman, and a christmas background, and a lot of first rate action scenes: a fiery cocktail.

Danny R (us) wrote: One of the most enthralling gangster films of the early '90s, a memorable crime drama of betrayal, redemption and guilt, marvelously realized and skillfully directed by Phil Joanou. Sean Penn delivers a superlative multi-layered performance as Terry Noonan, a undercover cop brought down from Boston to infiltrate one of the top crime organizations in the City of New York, he returns to his old neighborhood in New York's Hell's Kitchen to locale his childhood best friend Jackie Flannery, brilliantly played by Gary Oldman in a powerhouse performance an enforcer for his ruthless older brother Frankie, played superbly by Ed Harris who is sheer cunning evil and the boss of the Irish mob in Hell's Kitchen. Noonan hopes that Jackie can get him into Frankie's gang, but things become more complicated when his old feeling for Kathleen, beautifully played by Robin Wright the Flannery's estranged sister come into play. Impressive supporting performances John Turturro, Jonn C. Reilly, R.D. Call, Joe Vitereli, and the late great character actor Burgess Meredith in a brilliant heartfelt cameo as an old man in debt and living in fear, but it is Oldman who steals the film with one of his finest performances, his ability to show completely psychopathic behavior complete with sudden outbursts of brutal violence. coupled with feeling of love and loyally is very powerful and compelling. Great use of New York City locations, and exquisite cinematography by Jordan Cronenworth, Ennio Morricone brilliant score is perfectly haunting. The finale climatic slow-motion shootout between Penn and Ed Harris's mob during the St. Patrick's Day Parade is a real stunner. Gritty, violent and unforgettable. Highly Recommended.
