James O (ru) wrote: Take "The Thing", stick it on a train, and you've got a hot slice of old school horror that had me longing for the grindhouse days (19790s-1980s). If the fact that Horror Express stars Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, and Telly Savalas doesn't intrigue you enough, how about an alien creature that can boil your brain and turn you into a mindless zombie? Still not intrigued? I'm sorry, you must have accidentally looked up this film instead of Care Bears: The Movie. Please go away. Horror Express features an amazing score by John Cacavas, and it really works near the end. The main cast do a great job with their roles, even though Savalas gets little screen time. It has a nice pace that keeps things moving along nicely, along with good cinematography, good writing, good special effects, etc. If you like old school horror, this is a must-see. If you're not a huge fan of old-school horror, check it out anyway. It's a very entertaining way to spend an hour and a half.
