(au) wrote: I think the movie was great , I mean it took place in an apartment through out the whole movie , the plot was simply Great , Searching for the truth from 2 different point of views , Gives you the feeling that you are watching a play, Just Don't think many viewer's will find it appealing to watch as you watch basically 90 minutes of 2 men debating each other about life in one single room through the whole movie , As time will pass you might find it a little bit boring , But i guess its great over all.
(au) wrote: A World without Thieves, from Xiaogang Feng, brings a challenge to the thieves. The film highlights the main characters with its slow and lengthy introduction, leaving the opening title sequence absent until 10 minutes in. Despite moments where the story becomes melodramatic while moving at a leisurely pace, the level of intrigue is high enough to overcome that and hold attention.Complete with some stylization and a few moments of CG, the thievery is nicely done and amusing to view. The train, which is where well more than half of the film takes place, provides a fun setting for the story.Andy Lau and Rene Liu work well together. Ge You and Li Bingbing cast the standout supporting characters.A World without Thieves has its ups and downs, mostly ups, and is a Hong Kong crime drama worth viewing.

(br) wrote: Cary Grant received his one and only Oscar nomination for this film (as hard as that is to believe). It's a very offbeat role for him and he is excellent. It's not one of his best films however, but it is still a fine drama. Ethel Barrymore is outstanding in the role of his dying mother.
