Bheema D (gb) wrote: I want to like this movie. I should like this movie. A little 20 minute short film with no dialogue about a tire's vengeful trek would be great. But this is an 82 minute film that replicates what it's like to fall asleep watching the wrong TV channel, made by pretentious, selfish, lazy, hateful fucks who think it's smart not to think and that everybody deserves to be brutally mutilated, people who shove wooden planks with Kurt Cobain's face up their vagina and put candlewax in their dickholes, People who see dullness in life will make a dull output into life.

Though simply handled, the film possesses some very realistic Thai boxing, and a really compelling story.

Dann M (kr) wrote: Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael is a fun and charming '90s comedy. The small town of Clyde, Ohio is all abuzz about the return of Roxy Carmichael, a local girl who became rich and famous after leaving for Hollywood; meanwhile a socially outcast teenager named Dinky Bossetti comes to believe that she's Roxy's long lost daughter. Winona Ryder leads the cast and brings a lot of charm and charisma to the film. And the comedy works pretty well, delivering some good laughs. However, the film is poorly written and is full of unnecessary subplots that don't go anywhere. The directing is also weak, and has trouble keeping a consistent tone, yet Melissa Etheridge provides a strong theme song ("In Roxy's Eyes") that captures the spirit of film. It's flawed, but Welcome Home Roxy Carmichael is an entertaining comedy with a sincere message.
Andrew T (us) wrote: if disney ever made a lesbo runaway film, it would be like this. was to do for New Wavw Punk what Saturday Night Fever did for Disco, instead it ruined the careers of all involved. producers cut out all lesbo plot, despite that, it's still a fun movie. the soundtrack is fucking cool

Craig C (kr) wrote: Made in 1974 by John Carpenter while still in college, Dark Star has aged amazing well despite obvious 70s trappings. From alien beach balls to smart bombs on a tiny ship with a female-voiced computer, you get glimpsed of cyberpunk among the crazed crew. A true classic that gets better with age. "Thank you for following all safety precautions."
Scott C (nl) wrote: I did find this watchable and surprisingly memorable. I think it's messed how a genre of music glorifies thuggery though. I've heard first hand that Curtis Jackson is both a thug and a gentleman. That sort of comes across in this picture and I guess that's what makes it interesting.

Aln C (br) wrote: I watched this movie a little over a year ago. I'm in my college years and let me tell you, this is a perfect movie for someone arond my ageI'm not sure that I'll like this movie when I'm around 30 to 50 years old, all I know is that I like it now, and as long as there are college students in the world, this movie will still have a following. Besides, critics, open up your mind to silly ideas, stop giving 5 stars to confusing, probably not that good stuff like Interstellar and open up to less serious, funnier stuff

Matt D (ru) wrote: Not exactly a riveting story, if you enjoy good visuals and classic b movie Sci-fi (which I normally don't) you'll get a kick out of this. The exterior shots Bava created for this are perfect. If you like Alien you should see this out of respect.
