Simon T (au) wrote: Terrific zappy comedy-drama, wonderfully acted by a slew of familiar faces, led by lovely natural leads Eddie Redmayne and - particularly - Michelle Williams, who captures Monroe's infuriating vulnerability uncannily. The flaws are an overly breathless first half, followed by an overly langourous second.

James S (nl) wrote: Good story and great main role. Awkward over acting occurs regularly. Still worth watching.

Andrew G (br) wrote: By the numbers psych-ward schlock.

Tom D (es) wrote: I love this film. I am not sure the extent to which it is a guilty pleasure or if it is a genuine classic. It is a grimm fairy tale for the modern world. It is beautifully structured. A lot of it is hilarious. Visually stunning. And the score is out of this world. The story seems slight. But great films have been built around less. It's reputation may grow. It is proof that this is a great director. But I already knew that.

Tim M (br) wrote: Not a comedy, as Netflix claims. Maybe there's funny parts to people who don't know anyone in Humboldt. I think I prefer Orange County with Jack Black, this drama is predictable in parts and boring in others.

Luke D (kr) wrote: Unnecessary and forgettable sequel to 'Agent Cody Banks' which isn't great but passable entertainment. Nothing offensive here, just doesn't work as a whole. As it's plot goes it's pretty crap with lame humour, but to it's credit there is a decent chase scene with another likeable performance from Frankie Muniz, and thats really about it.

Taylor N (es) wrote: Better then Transpotting and Clockwork orange, Best Independant Film to come. shows life as dramatic as they possibly could make it with out the sob story.

Andy S (kr) wrote: Starts well with a complicated staging during an opera, followed by a Venetian romance reminiscent of David Lean's Summertime, but becomes pretty obvious in the last third.

Matt M (it) wrote: Pre world war two aristocracy at a weekend party as seen in this highly satirised and delightful film by Jean Renoir, regarded as one of the best films ever made. Uses of long tracking shots, wonderful cinematography and frame composition as well as a well timed choreography of the on screen action make this delightfully perfect for the eyes, whereas the wit and overall intelligence of the script make this delightful to the ears, particularly considering the abilities of the wonderful cast. Renoir is almost merciless at dismantling the ways and hypocrisy of the upper class with this genuinely funny and unpredictable comedy ahead of its time and deeply influential.

Aditya M (kr) wrote: While it is not by any means a bad film, it is simplistic and awash with sentimentality and misplaced humour. These elements haven't dated well, and seem cloying and jarring. Watch it for Henry Fonda's performance.
