(nl) wrote: Everything goes just a little too easy in this still enjoyable crime caper...the ending was really annoying though.
(fr) wrote: Poignant and thoughtful film dealing with HIV and relationships, but served with dollops of humour, choreography and wonderful cameos! Who'd have thought Cpt Picard would make such a fabulous gay superhero!? Can't remember the number of times I'v watched it, but I love it!!
(kr) wrote: Great vehicle for Martin Short. Not for everyone but I loved it!!
(fr) wrote: A lesser known, early 90s slasher film, I thoroughly enjoyed Happy Hell Night as a self-conscious example of the genre that also featured some truly creepy moments and imagery. Funny, creepy, brutal, and slightly smart, Happy Hell Night is by no means a masterpiece of the genre, but it remains a compelling example of how the genre has continued to generate decent films outside of late 70s/early 80s.

Not really a war movie per se; much like Hell in the Pacific, this film seems to use WWII merely as a convenient backdrop to tell it's story, which is effective in the extreme. Don't watch this if you're trying to cheer yourself up.
(ru) wrote: Far too long of a movie that tries to cover too much, so in a sense it's almost too short. It became a slog as Ali just wasn't very likeable. Jon Voight as Howard Cosell was amazing though.
