Richard D (au) wrote: This isn't a bad idea for a movie, but it's not well executed. The main character never really emerges as anything beyond a broad sketch of a character, so it's really difficult to care what happens to him. Peter Stormare's villain is ridiculously over the top. That works for him in some films ... not here. This marks the beginning of a serious slump that Romero just hasn't been able to pull himself out of. At least it's not a zombie film ... there's that.
Russell G (ag) wrote: The kid grew up, the robbers are gone, but that did not stop this sequel from happening? I am not sure how this constitutes as being part of a series. A more appropriate title might be "A Rip-Off of Home Alone." We have an entirely new set of characters that are not as good as the first time around. This time there are four bumbling and incompetent spies, because two must not have been enough. They are nowhere near as funny Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, not even as victims of booby-traps. Alex Linz is good but not as lovable as Macaulay Culkin. The setup for this new kid is a sickday where his mother must go into work anyway is extremely weak. It is not the end of the world, I suppose, but it is too short of a time for the given situation. It is disappointing how the physical humor of the traps is tamer this time around. The traps themselves are good, but the dumbed down reactions are not. They must be supposedly "more acceptable for kids." The biggest reason why it pales in comparison to the first two movies is it lacks the heartfelt moments and strong supporting roles. It is amusing and has some fine cartoonish humor with the traps, but this is a Home Alone movie in name only for me.

Greg P (au) wrote: I remember seeing this movie when I was younger and I loved it. I even had the poster up on my wall. I will say that the big draw for me was that Scott Bakula was the star as he was is still is one of my favorite actors. He is great in this role as the former star who is "brought out of retirement" to lead the team. There are lots of great actors in this movie like Elizondo, Loggia, and Miller who all do a great job. The film's ending is fairly predictable but that isn't bad because that's what you want to see and what you expect from a movie like this. Everyone should check this movie out.

Mark V (de) wrote: For sports fans, this is a fun movie! I didn't say it was a great movie. The script was lacking at times, and it was very wordy. Not much action. But it was fun to see into a world (or at least Hollywood's version of it) that is behind the sport I love! The Jennifer Garner love interest part made the movie fit more of Hollywood's formula, but in the end, even she made the movie a little more fun. So, if you love sports, see this movie. If you don't, I'd avoid it.
Jj L (kr) wrote: Hard to call this a comedy, it is not funny but rather bittersweet. Great acting and great writing but the sequencing lacks cohesion and feels disconnected.
Maelin A (de) wrote: I truly enjoyed this movie. Took 1/2 star off because there wasn't enough chemistry or development of the relationship with his wife, so scenes that could have jerked tears out of me, were actually a bit flat.
