Trent R (fr) wrote: Disappointing mix of top-notch martial arts with poor cinematography and worse editing. They genuinely seemed to be trying to give it a plot, with a little backstory, some jumping about, and the occasional payoff. Good to see, as was the mix of stylists in adversaries. Mike B. unfortunately seems too used to being on the receiving end of the fight, as his bouts with fellow stuntmen are much more exciting than the final duel with Russell Wong. This has a spectacular cliffside and tidepool setting, but quickly devolves into one long slow-motion K.O. Quite a letdown, as they had built up Mike B. throughout the film as a JC-like human pinball and Wong as a linear killing machine. Still, I liked the cast and the effort put into everything and think they are all worth keeping an eye on.

Brandon J (gb) wrote: Excellent detective movie. The story was good, and the acting was spot on. Jack Nicholson is a brilliant actor. This happens to be one of my favorites in the handful pile of movies. I am a very picky reviewer.

Sarah H (jp) wrote: At first I was a little worried about Bill Bixby being a playboy but I guess it's more believeable when you also say how much money he's supposed to have. I thought it was pretty cute, although I could have done without the Alice in Wonderland camera shots. They did recycle the leading lady from another Elvis Movie. There were some really cheesey songs in there, but at least it was still funny.

Marcus M (es) wrote: Heart wrenching story about overcoming doom, misery and suffering.

Martin T (gb) wrote: A pretty good mystery, elevated by the wonderful comic talents of Alastair Sim as Inspector Cockrill. The whodunit aspect of the movie is handled well, keeping you guessing with a series of meaningful looks and red herring (although the "HOWdunit" aspect becomes rather obvious).

Anne F (fr) wrote: A crew of English airmen have to bail out over Holland and try to make their way back to England. This wartime film very obviously had a great propaganda value, but surprisingly the bravest people are the Dutch nationals who risk their lives to help the airmen, whilst the Germans are not portrayed as unsympathetically as I had expected. The film is very unusual in having no musical soundtrack, and has a very young Peter Ustinov (who I missed because I never read cast lists before watching films).

Shantel D (gb) wrote: Fun because of it's over the top cheese, but it could have been improved upon. Overall, it's a decent flick.
