Scott P (fr) wrote: This documentary is pretty good, the interviews and what you see speak for themselves. However the film is harmed by the documentarian who really doesn't ask the proper questions and doesn't seem all that interested in the subject itself. His narration and voice itself are the biggest turnoff in the film, especially in the beginning. It isn't until about 10 minutes into the film that you get hooked and can't look away because the images and interviews just get stranger and stranger.

Donald W (ca) wrote: The plot of this movie is just a story about an evil robot. Farrah Fawcett and Kirk Douglas are living alone on a future space station near Saturn. Supposedly they are growing food to send back to earth. Harvey Keitel brings them a robot to help make them more efficient. Harvey Keitel imprints his memories into the robot. When the robot realizes that Harvey Keitel is mentally unstable and has killed the real designer of the robot, it turns on Keitel and kills him. He then tries to kill Farrah and Kirk Douglas. The real reason for the movie is to give Farrah a chance to show some skin and to run around in revealing outfits. The story is so predictable it's kind of boring. Kirk Douglas was in his 60's when he made this movie and Farrah was in her 20's. It's kind of creepy seeing an old man with a woman 40 years younger. It's also kind of sad to think Kirk Douglas is still alive and Farrah died way too young.

I wasn't old or wise enough to judge it by its quality, of course, but I do know that it scared the hell out of me. It doesn't help that I'm a bit of an arachnaphobe. Looking at it today, I can separate myself from that fear and enjoy it for what it is: a funny bad movie. It has a few familiar faces, William Shatner being just one of them, and it does get ridiculous at how relentless the spiders are. It reminded me of Night of the Living Dead quite a bit, as these people eventually board themselves up, trying to escape the little buggers. The ending was also nice for a change, which I won't spoil if you haven't seen it. I also recognized the unmistakable music cue for the Spanish Inquisition, which did make me laugh quite a bit. It's no horror masterpiece or anything like that, but the film does have some creepy crawliness to it and plenty of camp to keep bad movie fans smiling.
