James A (fr) wrote: Surprisingly good, tender and funny with a bit of heartache.
Harpreet S (jp) wrote: Interesting film by Nagesh Kukunoor, it is directed well. A clever and different way of story telling, keeps you glued to the screen. John Abraham can act, but Anaitha Nair steals the show! One of the finer Bollywood films to come out recently.
Tom S (us) wrote: It's clear and informative, but seriously dated, incorporating the stock footage and stock oldies that were clichs from the second anyone ever used them. Good thing Gibney learned to dispose of these when he returned later with the semi-classic "Taxi to the Dark Side."
Ollie W (ru) wrote: Stunning. Beautifully directed. Sweet ass acting. amazing story. This "Advance Party" concept is a one to watch out for. I am not ashamed to say that I cried like a baby in one scene.Truly harrowing and real. An exceptional feature-length directional debut from Andrea Arnold.
Jason K (nl) wrote: Mildly entertaining. This was supposed to be a documentary following some Blood gang members over a ten year period. Mostly, it was about one event and then a "Where Are They" now segment.
Sean O (br) wrote: I watched this at the height of summer and wanted to be bewitched but found myself fast-forwarding it. I didn't really care for any of the characters, alas.
Paul C (br) wrote: Another of the propganda films made during World War II by Powell and Pressburger. Sadly although the film starts off well enough, the escape through occupied Holland to safety is less enthralling - one for film buffs, than the casual observer!
David S (mx) wrote: It's much too predictable to be successful, but its portrayal of temptation can be effective. The film follows Satan's exploits as he is commanded to tempt people even though he'd prefer to be back in God's grace. The segment on Jesus is the most workmanlike, while there are moments in the other three segments that preview Dreyer's formal command, even though it's not consistently on display.
Susan M (de) wrote: I don't understand the poor reviews. I thought Clint Eastwood did a brilliant job of choosing actors from the show. Someone made a comment about the bad lipsyncing. Had to laugh, as Mr. Eastwood had the actors perform live on every song. The story was unexpected, but the movie made me laugh and cry. My new favorite movie! Music was excellent!
