Mike L (fr) wrote: There are just so many things wrong with Mine Games from the beginning to the very last second. I must admit that the camerawork was excellent, location was fitting and the premise itself is intriguing but everything else in this production is extremely inadvertent and I found myself rolling my eyes continuously. The script is weak and bland, every cliche you could possibly think of was present, the decisions the characters made were not just "typical horror movie bad decisions that people make when they're scared and not thinking straight" kind of decisions, they were just decisions that would specifically keep the movie from stopping in its own tracks. In the end, there was literally not one specification on why anything had happened. Not a trace of resolution or meaning for any of it. I haven't seen a movie with this amount of carelessness and large quantity of plot holes in a while. If you look at my other reviews, you'll see that I'm extremely generous when it comes to rating films, probably TOO generous. But this.... this truly needed a substantial amount of work in so many areas. I would not go as far to say this is a BAD movie because you can tell that director Richard Gray tried to get creative and have some fun with this so I do respect that he tried to create something unique in such a repetitive world of film. It just really needed so much work to be considered good. It upsets me that someone didn't tell this guy about all these silly and avoidable mistakes he was making during preproduction and production of this film. This could have been the next "Triangle," "Coherence" or "Timecrimes" but it ended up being a messy, negligent, and heedless attempt at the time-loop subgenre.

I thought the first half was as generic as it could get though I'm a bit surprised bout the whole army action thing presentation. It really gets me up, especially when the action heats up. I thought the pacing was very well made. I never get bored when these actors know what they are doing (even as a terrorist or a soldier). With all the hype and criticism that this film gets, it is a well made action flick that reminds us how these spec ops are a big part of our nation. A good flick with no alcohol required.

Steve G (gb) wrote: This is a difficult subject but the story is very good and you are brought into the wolrd of the characters as they seem real. The film brings you to care about the characters and is a sad film which might make you cry, but it was a good film with great actors.

David J (es) wrote: "Looking for Richard" is not pretty to look at and it has a clear lack of cohesion, but Al Pacino's passion translates where Shakespeare did not. If you're interested in performing arts, I recommend you go check this one out.
Scott H (gb) wrote: Neither lead character is truly sympathetic as it bounces around from being mildly humorous to serious with no sense of cohesion with the script. It's ultimately predictable and has no real definitive sequence or scene to make it memorable, and features an ending so rushed and so random that it undermines even the averageness of the content that preceded it.
