film w (gb) wrote: 1st - 2nd Kind of cringe inducing at times as you'd expect from a teen romance, but still manages to invoke the deep sense of dread that accompanies the subject and the book.

Kyle M (jp) wrote: Gor? Miyazaki is now in the right track of following his father's footsteps after his too-serious anime adaptation "Tales from Earthsea." His latest film, "From Up on Poppy Hill," doesn't lack a thing. At first thought it would be predictable when watching the trailer, but one direction has made a detour to the story. Another ordinary masterpiece from Ghibli (Japanese version of Walt Disney Animation) with the same usage of a good heart and beauty on their animation and storytelling, with an addition of few surprises if thought to be predictable or not. Also, the film's soundtrack is one of the year's and Ghibli's best. (A-)(Full review coming soon)

Andrew U (nl) wrote: One of the few James Bond outings to focus more on his personal life than on a particular mission, though it does have a compelling plot and a captivating interpretation of Bond's arch-nemesis. Lazenby, while not the greatest actor, does a fine job in the role.

Brian B (it) wrote: It's about the birds.

Richard D (nl) wrote: One of the greatest ensemble acting films of the early 60s ... Burt Lancaster, Karl Malden, Thelma Ritter, Neville Brand, Telly Savalas, Edmond O'Brien, Hugh Marlowe, Whit Bissell ... and despite being a highly fictionalized depiction of Robert Stroud, manages to make a good case for what's wrong about the modern prison system.
