josh s (us) wrote: A large scale battle film showing a modern day view of the formation of the Justice League, showing off epic fight's and confrontations of your favorite super hero's..... and that's really it. Not much of a story or anything memorable to gain from watching. I'd say watch this movie if your bored or want to get an idea of who or what the justice league are. Don't expect anything special.

Carol M (jp) wrote: Oscar Grant's fully dimensional character is written well and played superbly. This is a heart-breaking story that gives a face and a name to our escalating crisis of over-zealous policing.

Dinesh S (fr) wrote: A bit over the top - and will give you moments to make fun of - but a decent movie nonetheless

Carlos R (br) wrote: Unforgettable, nostalgic, and filled with mature themes. Toy Story 2 is that rare sequel that is way better than the 1st and serves more than a blatant cash grab.

Jason J (it) wrote: This is an interesting and hilarious movie about the dilemma of Asian families living in modern day Britain. It is about the struggle of an Anglo-Asian family coming to terms with life in 70s Britain with the father (a Pakistani) wanting to keep the lifestyle of his roots and the inevitable rebellion of his children and to an extent his English wife. It is very well written, and although the father is unsympathetic to English eyes, one can understand his dilemma, and that of his family. The question is not resolved, although one would like to think that the father reflects on his despotic nature and allows his children their freedom to live a life in the style of the country in which they and their mother were born, and that he may come to terms with the fact that life in England cannot be lived in the same way as life in Pakistan. Interestingly at the end of the film, one can sympathise a little with his character and understand why he is the way he is. In spite of the seriousness of the subject, it is also a very funny, well observed piece. All in all a very engaging film which I would certainly want to see again. Highly recommended

Carl M (ag) wrote: The Gill Man is captured and put on display at an ocean-themed amusement park in Florida, but the tank is unable to hold him for long, and it soon escapes to seek its revenge! Mankind pays the ultimate price for trying to control nature in REVENGE OF THE CREATURE, starring John Agar and Lori Nelson. The Creature wants nothing more than to be left alone in its Amazonian habitat, but instead, it is forced into captivity and subjected to a number of questionable scientific experiments. The film is divided in to two distinct parts, with the second half of the story revolving around the military officials and their hunt for the Creature after it kidnaps the beautiful young science student, Helen. The creature effects and costuming are up to par with the original, although the terror and suspense are limited to the underwater scenes shared by Agar and Nelson. They are competent enough in their roles, though they hold less appeal than Richard Carlson and Julie Adams. REVENGE OF THE CREATURE is an entertaining but average sequel that will still hold up for most monster fans.

Michael Z (fr) wrote: I showed this movie recently to our men's group. This film has a good musical score and three careers to focus on. It is a movie with "Middle Class" appeal. The ups and downs, and the great Gershwin style culmination are entertaining, and bring the audience to be involved emotionally. Cagney reminds you of "Public Enemy" while walking the streets, but the real lesson here is the hazards of choosing money over love in the case of Ann Sheridan, and the consequences of fame. But the film never fails on hope.

David L (de) wrote: Honestly, I'm surprised by the high critics praise given for this film, as it just comes across as a low budget mild horror to me. It's not particularly sinister, or evil and just revolves around a dads mission, supposedly given to him by God, to destroy all the demons that are on deaths list. Of course, he can't do this alone, and needs the assistance of his two sons, one older and wiser, believing the dad to be suffering from a mental illness, and the other younger and naive, going along with any porky pie his dad tells him. We actually watch the events as they had panned out but in real time, the story is unfolding as the elder brother tells it to the police, admitting that his younger brother is the psychopathic killer responsible for a notorious rampage of murders. I admit I didn't see the actual twist coming, albeit I knew one was of course coming, just not in the style that I had guessed. It was actually quite a clever conclusion, but only once I had fully understood in via Wikipedia. Other than that it was fairly fruitless, not gory, all the horror left to the imagination, and it was purely building and building without much notable action. I'm never that keen on religious or spiritual films and although this wasn't particularly deep, the concept was based loosely around this theming, but granted it did allow it to produce the fine finish that it did. Matthew Mcwhathisface was the main recognisable actor in this, although I wouldn't have known him if it hadn't of said it on the DVD cover. Overall, not a great deal to shout about. Pleasant weekend viewing, which was neither here nor there in my eyes, and had I not been doing the ironing at the same time, I may not have even been able to keep them open.
