Elena Undone

Before crossing paths with Peyton, falling for a woman was an unimaginable situation for Elena, a straight wife and mother. The friendship between Peyton, an out lesbian writer, and Elena, the wife of an anti-gay paster who has never experienced true love, transforms swiftly from a one-sided crush into a torrid extramarital affair. Despite their attraction, Peyton, jaded in a number of ways, has strong reservations about becoming involved with a married straight woman; Elena, recognizing that she is caught in a loveless marriage, can barely begin to rationalize the nature and magnitude of her desires. As their relationship evolves, Elena confronts the choice of leaving her husband or ending her involvement with Peyton to save her unraveling and unrewarding marriage and return to a drab and automated life. Above all, Elena faces the looming challenge of convincing Peyton that the two women have a bright future together despite their unfavorable circumstances

The wife of a pastor who preaches against homosexuality embarks on an affair with a female writer. Fate brings two diversely different women together, and sets them on a collision course that will shatter their preconceived notions about love, life and the power of one's soul. . Buggy B (ru) wrote: So I'd read a few reviews for Cosmpolis and thought I knew what to expect; dry and random and David Cronenberg (so possibly violent but definitely weird) and I tried really hard to get into this, but holy cow. After 15 minutes of meandering, incoherent, unrelated dialogue with several emotionless people, my mind started to wander. I tried to bring it back, tried to focus but nope, I'm bored. We meet billionaire Eric Packer, he's young, good looking and wants a haircut so sets out across Manhattan in a stretch limo despite the threat of a presidential motorcade, violent anarchists and a funeral procession. I watched Packer (Pattinson) interact with a random cast of characters in and out of his limo, I watched him get a cardiogram, a prostate exam (while carrying on a conversation) his wife hops in and out, he eats breakfast, he eats lunch, he has sex with a couple of different women. I was bored. I tried to figure out what the hell was going on, is there a point to this?Eric Packers financial empire crumbles, my mind wanders, I tried to bring it back (I don't care anymore) I'm bored. Packer gets half a haircut, brandishes a gun, shoots someone (where did that come from?) Meets a man in a decrepit apartment, has a super long and involved dialogue with him, cries a few tears and blood is spilled. What the hell did I just watch? I read a review that described the writing here as jazz like that which describes this movie perfectly. I don't like jazz. 10/18/14

Michael M (au) wrote: This is a pretty underrated movie that's pretty fucking awesome. Angela Bassett was a badass in this flick and the end of the millennium setting makes for a good set piece.

Jamie C (de) wrote: Boring, awful, waste of time!!!!! Glad I only rented it. Couldn't even get through the whole movie before I decided to turn it off. The plot got old very quickly!!! Don't waste ur time not even worth renting! I don't recommend this movie.
