Mitch T (kr) wrote: Although not all of the stories in this anthology were awesome, there were a few that really gave me chills, and some of them were very original takes on the found-footage genre. The one segment on which I have to comment was the last one, which could have been a lot better than it was, and the cgi and weird parts of it made it seem kinda dumb. However, other than that, this movie as a whole is pretty good.

Karsh D (ca) wrote: Tough emotional film. A chef loses his wife through cancer and goes off the rails a bit as life seems to lose its purpose in such situations. More emotional than I bargain ed for, a better film than I bargained for.
Jordan G (kr) wrote: I didn't really care for the original, I didn't like the third one, and I hated the fourth one! But, the second one surprised the heck out of me! This one was very well acted, the family was really likeable, it didn't rely on jumpscares, it was very unsettling in more than a few parts, and there were actually a couple of scary moments! Great movie! Definitely the best in the series!

Excited about leaving his village to attend college in the city even if he knows that it would be hard for his mother to let him go, he knows that he has to in order to obtain a valuable education and career. As he arrives, he's already received numerous phone messages from home. After settling in, he meets the beautiful, and willful, Meesha and realizes that not only is she pretty but she's also a bit high maintenance. Believing in the goodness of others, he decides to overlook this and attempts to befriend her even if she continually tries to embarrass him. A life threatening situation occurs, and this changes her mind frame about Nihaal as well as her own state of nature. Under the careful guidance of a professor, Nihaal pursues his overall passion in science but does not realize that his mentor has bigger plans for him than he initially presumed. Jacky Bhagnani, Vaishali Desai, Rishi Kapoor, Farida Jalal, and Kunal Kumar stars. Guest appearances by Ritesh Deshmukh, Juhi Chawla, Dalip Tahil, and Rajpal Yadav.

Marrick A (de) wrote: It's the courage of publishers and writers like those featured in this film that safeguarded our right to free speech and expression during a time of great government pressure to censor oneself and conform. Great film.
The Original Tia of F (de) wrote: Caught this movie late one night when I couldn't sleep (anybody noticing a trend here?? lol) and once I turned to it I watched it all the way to the end. What I found most intriguing is the way they used the image of a "darkman" as his subconscious/alter personality and gave his inner turmoil. A lot fo people complain about the technical mistakes in this movie and location errors and blah blah blah...being that i'm not a hardcore movie snob I really didn't notice any of the errors most complain about. This is one of those "its so bad its good" movies to me... the acting was pretty pretentious and lacking, and like I said before there were a lot of factual errors that those who know every detail of the killings would be pissing themselves to point them out to you at every opportunity.. but for me I have never heard of the killings and it was all new to me so I never looked at it that way. At any rate, its something to watch if nothing else is on.

Anya S (nl) wrote: I have never heard of this man before, and I must say that I am not a fan of any of his work that they show in this movie. And not only do I not like his work I do not like who he is as a person, he treats people that were there before he was successful like scum, and the same with those who helped him get to where he is. Basquiat acts like an arrogant son of a bitch that does not deserve any of the success that he has. But when the movie ended and the epilog came up it just made me sad. This is a very well made movie that tells the true story of and American painter who really revolutionized graffiti, and the voice of American artists. Watch this if you are interested in art history or if you just enjoy a good true story.

Allan C (de) wrote: Underrated 80s crime film, featuring one of my all-time favorite action scenes. Written by Oliver Stone right around the same time he wrote the iconic remake of "Scarface," this film shares many of the same 1980s elements of drugs, sleaze and guns. Fan of "Scarface" should all do themselves a favor and check this film out. The story is from a Lawrence Block novel about Matthew Scudder, played by Jeff Bridges, a former police officer turned PI. Scudder gets caught up in the murder of a high price prostitute, Alexandra Paul. Andy Garcia is a terrifically scary as a smiling pony tailed drug dealer. Rosanna Arquette plays a woman caught between Bridges and Garcia. The story kind of drags as points, but the film has some truly memorable scenes and superb performances, particularly Bridges and Carcia. But if for nothing else, watch this film for the amazingly awesome awesome warehouse showdown finale. Director Hal Ashby builds some amazing tension and does is with flair and style that I can't say I'd seen in his pervious work. There's great glossy 80s photography by director of photography Stephen H. Burum and a fitting synthesizer score by James Newton Howard in one of his very first film credits. Robert Towne reportedly did uncredited rewrites and the film has Tiny'Lister, so how can you not watch this film? But seriously, if for nothing else, watch this film for the warehouse finale. It really is amazing.

Michael L (ca) wrote: this might be the worst ozu film ive seen. his movies are never thrill rides but this one is really dull and it seems like a retread of similar films. definetely no tokyo story or even autumn equinox!
