Matthew D (nl) wrote: Calendar Girls is a poignant, well-acted tear-jerker based on a true story. Mirren and Walters both portray their characters realistically and emotionally, and the film's script, though The Full Monty-style, is hilariously touching and its highest moments are when Walters and Mirren react to each other. A wonderfully feel-good film that lingers on in the mind long after viewing.

Marielle d (kr) wrote: Rarely give up on a film before it finishes. The first 20 minutes of cliched narration were unbearable. This is clumsily punctuated by a backing piano loop which attempts to cling to your sympathies but instead really fucking gets on your nerves. The movie improves past this point, but not enough to feel like more than a failed homage to Kubrick's Clockwork Orange, I stopped wasting my time less than halfway through.

Cooper H (es) wrote: Not even one semi good chase sequence can save this debacle of a Mad Max film. Without the grit and the action and the infusion of multiple random kids, this is a boring and for the most part unenjoyable movie.

Ross M (es) wrote: Watched this over a year ago. I could have sworn I had already rated this. Well, I will give a brief opinion of it now. Exciting thriller, with a human character in Bogart's Roy Earle. One of the deepest of all of the gangster films of the 1930's and 40's, if not the deepest entirely.

Podcastings Brock (ca) wrote: An enjoyable Marx Bros. movie. Their comedy still works after all these years. When the antics were happening the movie flowed quite well. Unfortunately, the musical portions stop the movie in its tracks. While I do enjoy a good musical, the songs are always my least favorite part of a Marx Bros. movie While Lydia the Tattooed Lady is from this movie, and Groucho is fun to watch during that number, the songs with the tenor are of the style of the time, and choreographed simplistically and poorly that they really date the movie. And Harpo playing the Harp is always fun to see, but that number is a complete tangent to the plot. There is enough funny Marx Bros. here to make it worth the wait through the songs, and you could actually fast forward through them to get to the next scene and not have to worry about missing a plot point; they are that unrelated to the rest of the film. Recommend.

Baurushan J (us) wrote: This movie which I didn't know about is a sequel to the 1997 movie Kiss The Girls and both this and that are based of novels each written by James Patterson so now the sequel has arrived titled Along Came A Spider. In this movie, Morgan Freeman plays Dr.Alex Cross who teams up with a Secret Service agent named Jezzie Flannigan played by Monica Potter to find a missing student named Megan who is abducted by a psychopath named Gary played by Michael Wincott. Apparently Megan's dad Hank is related to Alex so he sent him on the case and some detective named Ollie played by Dylan Baker has strong words for Jezzie because she mistakenly let Megan slip by into the kidnapper's hands. And then Gary contacts Alex which is when Alex and Jezzie start to team up but he suspects her thinking she has something to do with this case alone and then they both realize that this is only the beginning for Gary- well who would have guessed? This movie is a complicated, creative thriller which you have to really concentrate to understand and if you miss a single bit of the movie, you'll be sorry. Along Came A Spider gets a 8.9/10.

Johnathan M (es) wrote: It's ok but could have been so much more. Richard Gere is excellent and it is a decent enough story. It lacks pace at times and there are moments where there was an opportunity to turn up the tension but it never quite gets there.

Thomas C (nl) wrote: While the animation style is both interesting and beautiful and the voice over work is really good, the story is mediocre and the ending leaves you more confused then content.
