There was too much whinning and screaming in this it gave me a fuc!king headache so I turned it off after 15 minutes! This was just an generic take on movies like Saw or Hostel. Overall AVOID! Yani D (es) wrote: This is an absolutely fantastic film. Not being familiar with the biography of St Francis of Assisi I cannot comment on its historical accuracy. However the acting the cinematography are top notch. The story is beautiful and moving. Highly recommended.

Keenan S (ca) wrote: This film is a weird, trashy mess, but oddly entertaining mess to say the least. The script is all over the place, and sometimes the acting is hit-or-miss, but Elizabeth Taylor steals the show as the lonely call girl whose life is being torn apart by family troubles and more intimate relationships. I really enjoyed Butterfield 8, and I think it is one of the more underrated films of Elizabeth Taylor's career.
Tony M (gb) wrote: I watched this film on my new FIOS system, in the hope that it would be an interesting hidden gem of a comic book movie, a hit-or-miss genre that lately has had more misses. What I ended up watching, was a ridiculous, not-bad-enough-to be good movie, that had both Dan Aykroid, and John Cho, both of whom have seen better days. The premise, we've all seen before: geek falls for a girl, geek is injected with super spider juice, geek turns into a spider, geek gets more than he bargained for. Devon Gummersall, the aforementioned geek tries admirably, but with a bad script, bad special effects, and worse directing, this one just sucks. Don't fall into this web.
Paulo B (es) wrote: What an interesting musical! The leads are both quite unlikable, and cruel. But it's still very watchable thanks to Doris Day's great singing, the great songs and arrangements. And especially notable is James Cagney's great portrayal of Martin Snyder. I think the movie goes a little downhill in the second half, but the ending is great.
