Ida K (ca) wrote: This was one of those movies that had me thinking all night after I watched it. The first 20 minutes were slow but as they delved into Dr. Perl's past, it became heartbreaking to witness what this Jewish doctor had to do to survive the Holocaust. Seeing the pregnant women getting gassed and experimented on by nazi Dr. Menegle made me understand why she performed all those illegal abortions while in Auschwitz.

Greg S (fr) wrote: Hallucinating the whole time, a man recently released from a mental institution tracks down his long-lost daughter, while being pursued by a detective who believes he's responsible for the murder of a young girl. Subjective and disorienting, CLEAN, SHAVEN is one of the most harrowing portraits of paranoid schizophrenia ever filmed; ranks just below PSYCHO and REPULSION in the pantheon of horrifying studies of mental illness.

Chris H (it) wrote: Michael Mfume's critically acclaimed masterpiece that became the standard which all horror movies are measured. Its greatness imbedded in masterfully crafted scenes of suspense coupled with, in my opinion, an award winning performance by Michael Mfume. This cult classic to this day is Mfume's finest work as a Producer, Director, and Actor, see where the Lore of Michael Mfume began.

Stephanie A (fr) wrote: What a shocker, I'm glad I watched it though, and I have seen worse. It was just very confusing the first time watching.

jay n (us) wrote: Feeble junk with one time movie stars parading around in a wild west town that seems to have a law against anyone under the age of 50 living there. Laughably staged fight scenes with obvious stuntmen is only the start of the problems with this picture. Dana looks half dead throughout, Jane is okay but has been much better and most everybody else acts bored. One of A. C. Lyles cheapie westerns from the 60's and not one of the stronger ones.

Kato H (ca) wrote: though its a 1962 flick, the acting is fine with Curtis & brynner, you can get a bit confused, but keeps you on your feet, to see whats going to happen next!

Karl G (ca) wrote: Not stood the test of time I'm afraid. How did this get made, a head in a basket that kills people, what's weird about that?

Dean M (ca) wrote: I thought this is the worst of Best of the Best movies. Although Phillip Rhee in my opinion does a good job in all, but I didn't think the plot was all that great. Some decent fight scenes.

Cam E (nl) wrote: I'm not saying that Chernobyl Diaries is great, it isn't. But I have always been interested in Chernobyl and have always wanted a film on it and now we have one. It is a shame that this film is not as good as it could have been. Director Brad Parker had a great opportunity to make this film really good based on it's concept. But I think he definitely made mistakes. The cast is pretty poor in this film, the acting isn't great at times and it seems that this film is quite rushed. It is only a short film and I wish it was longer. There were several landmarks in Chernobyl that were not in this film and that is disappointing. Chernobyl reactor 4 is barely seen in this film yet that is the main part of Chernobyl. I thought this film was okay but I wish it was better. Not quite what I expected. But better than some horror films that I have seen. But if you are looking for a scary horror film Chernobyl Diaries isn't for you. If you are looking for a film which is not half bad then this is the film for you.

SV G (mx) wrote: It's a good character driven drama, well acted by Kevin Kline and Maggie Smith, it's difficult and tragic to watch at times, a sad tale, but it's not without humor. I totally enjoyed this film. My favorite of Mr Kline's right next to My Life as a House.

Allen G (jp) wrote: 'Out of the Furnace' is a prime example of a high-quality cast (barely) managing to drag a poor film onto its feet. This is certainly an intense and dark film, but unfortunately, the script struggles to convert this vibe into something authentic and memorable and, instead we're left feeling like this is a pretty standard genre re-hash, covered up with a strong cast. Fortunately, it really is a strong cast. Bale suits the action frontman role perfectly and Affleck's acting fits well with his character, to the point where I could just about forgive how overly-melodramatic his character was compared to the tone of the rest of the film. Harrelson probably stole the show here though as the villain but, unfortunately- it really was just a villain. I've forgotten the character's name because he was only ever 'that mean guy' to me. There's clearly an attempt at something ambitious here but there just wasn't enough in there to pull it off. Unfortunately, much of this film just isn't good enough. Nonetheless, the film had potential and the strong cast each squeezed as much of it out as they could, given what little they often had to work with. As a result, I'd say that this is a decent action flick with a darker edge, but it was clearly going for something far more impressive, and on that front, it failed.
