Eldorado, a fictitious country in Latin America, is sparkling with the internal struggle for political power. In the eye of this social convulsion, the jaded journalist Paulo Martins opposes two equally corrupt political candidates: a pseudopopulist and a conservative. In this context, Paulo is torn between the madness of the elite and the blind submission of the masses. But, in this complex tropical reality, nothing really is what it seems to be.

Barry T (mx) wrote: This needed to be more awful as it was not cheesy enough. Its a pure b movie but thinks its not - DREADFUL. Poor Basinger. Its just awful and she is sooooo annoying...............

Joe T (jp) wrote: It started out funny and more riske than the previous 2 - but the fact that it had nothing in it about school was a bit weird. And the plot went nowhere.

Jonathan B (it) wrote: Campy 80's nostalgia! Call me psycho- but I LOVE this movie! It's light hearted and funny enough for your goth kids and just slightly gory enough for you non-horror types! SCARY MOVIE before there was SCARY MOVIE.This horror/comedy is like a grave--I DIG it.

True indeed, there wasn't much of one, and so Verhoeven's film recounts, but in a sort of warm fuzzy way. What you get then is sort of the Dutch equivalent to American propanganda films, but with some little sex thrown in to spice up what ain't much of an action tale. The piece looks good though. If you're Dutch, or know someone who is, then it's probably worth another star.

Mark D (jp) wrote: An enjoyable Amicus anthology flick. Only down side is i had to sit through ANOTHER 'Black Cat' adaptation. Loved the Palance story with Poe. Great seein Burgess Meredith too.

Asa B (jp) wrote: Astaire is his usual amazing self, while Crosby croons away in this not only for Xmas film - it covers 15 American holidays, you know. Shame about the outrageous blackface scene...

Peter P (ru) wrote: Incredible looking film about family and never giving up. For most of this movie, it is set in the jungle, and I can only imagine how hard it must have been to shoot in, so hats off To everyone right there. Now as for the rest of the movie, it is based on a true story, that is always a plus, and has pretty believable acting. The main story is that a damn builders son is stolen by a little known tribe of the amazon called The Invisible People, and after 10 years his father still has not given up hope of finding him. As for the son, he is living quite happy as part of the tribe and is just about to go through the rites of manhood. From there we will just say Father and Son get reunited, a neighboring tribe starts a war, and mayhem ensues. One of the things that made me laugh about this movie I am pretty sure was not meant to be funny, and it is about nudity. You see, The Invisible People wear very little clothes, so there is a fair bit of indigenous nudity, and near the end of the movie when the women of the tribe are taken as slaves and forced to be dancing girls, they are made to put on clothes. So what is funny about this is that when they are set free by the men of the tribe the first thing they do is take off the clothes and throw them down on the ground with disgust. How opposite compared to films where women get taken hostage and are forced to be naked, and when they are rescued the first thing they do is put clothes on. I don't know, maybe it is just me, but that kind of made me laugh.

Ryan H (br) wrote: It was funny at first, then it slowly declines to the point that it put me to sleep. It was OK throughout, but I wasn't all about Snoopy and Woodstock's adventure. The song "No Dogs Allowed" was pretty funny. And thank you for the awesome first interaction with Franklin, the first black character in the Peanuts series. Snoopy is hugging everyone, then the black kid comes by and he gives him a high five. How freaking awesome! haha
