Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare

Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare

Our healthcare system is broken. Potent forces fight to maintain the status quo in a medical industry created for quick fixes, rather than prevention; for profit-driven, rather than patient-driven, care. Healthcare is at the center of an intense political firestorm in our nation's capital. But the current battle over cost and access does not ultimately address the root of the problem: we have a disease-care system, not a health-care one. After decades of opposition, a movement to introduce innovative high-touch, low-cost methods of prevention and healing is finally gaining ground.

Michael G (kr) wrote: It's not the best cartoon turned into a film but it's not as bad as Tom and Jerry: the movie. The story is not bad, the characters are a mix of dumb, annoying and idiotic. The best one is Fancy fancy and his girlfriend. Also why does spook always say like? The animation is as Bethany Rutter says it best a horror show. To be honest, I didn't like it. 5.5/10

Ian G (ca) wrote: After hearing some loud buzz about this project at TIFF '14, particularly the fact that it was executive produced by Scorsese and even included him making an appearance to promote it at the fest, the first time he came up since the early 80's, I was intrigued. Alas the hype died down realitively early in the process once I was through the first 20 minutes of Revenge of the Green Dragon, when it became clear that it was essentially a greatest hits package by Andrew Loo and his filmmaking partners to all things Scorsese with the most obvious being Goodfellas, the Internal Affairs remake Departed, Mean Streets and even some other Italian inspired crime dramas Godfather part 2 and Once Upon a time in America. Pretty much tossed all of these concepts into a pot and changed the culture from Italian to Asian and the atmosphere back out to Flushing Queens and you are all set. They even brought in Ray Liotta as the token Hollywood actor as the FBI agent investigating the amount of illegal immigrants pouring into the city from the far east and the increasing amount of violence in the area. In the end the film is utteraly familar and ultra violent throughout and seemingly been there done that. Meh.

Don S (jp) wrote: Another great movie in the Jesse Stone series based on novels by Robert Parker. Selleck nails this role and seems to be enjoying himself at the same time. The story is well told, the acting is above average and the pacing is fairly brisk. You don't get a lot of down time. The movies can be enjoyed on their own, though the characters do recur from movie to movie with some leaving and new ones added in. Stone is a no-nonsense police chief who sometimes bends the law for the purpose of justice. If you like crime dramas, give this a shot.

Dustin P (ru) wrote: Has it's funny moments, but most of it wasn't laugh-out-loud funny. In the end, everything works out just a little too perfect and I could see it coming 80 miles away. Not nearly as good as Knocked Up in the pregnancy comedy genre.

Peter P (ru) wrote: Interesting story about youthful ideas and growing up. The main reason that I watched this was cause of Christian Bale, saying that, I thought it was a decent enough film, although it lost half a star for lots of language and lots of needless nudity, sadly even from Bale, but other then that it is ok film if you are into these kinda movies.

Stephen E (ca) wrote: Noir is such a provocative genre. There are so many likable characteristics about it. Each noir film has an underlying meaning, and they all deal with dark themes: greed, murder, corruption. It's impossible not to enjoy watching a mystery as it unfolds. Arthur Penn's Night Moves is good example of noir, but it isn't a fantastic film. Why? The story is intriguing enough and it certainly holds many of the traits found in film noir, but it just doesn't have the "oomph" that it needs. You understand what I mean? Night Moves is a good film, but it needs to be a great film. With a story like this, it has to be. I don't blame the cast or really even the direction. In fact, I'm not sure who to blame. Just know that the blame goes to someone, even if that someone doesn't have a face. This film is just a slight tick above average, when it should be powerful. It's a film about morals, family morals. The message is there, black and white. But Night Moves just doesn't have the... Well, I'm done trying to explain.Gene Hackman continues to impress me with these younger roles. He is a fine actor and I see that now. His work nowadays doesn't really even being to compare with his 70's and 80's filmography. Here in Night Moves, his performance is one of the most attractive things. It's one of the best things that this film has to offer. Just don't go into Night Moves with high expectations, like the critics will get you to believe with their 4/4 star ratings. This is not a fabulous picture. This is not even a great noir. It's a good noir, and watch it because of that. There's no real mystery to look for. It's just all in the message. And that's what counts.

Corey C (nl) wrote: Strange, dark and casually-paced thriller -- if you can even call it that -- in the mold of Malick (big surprise -- he's a producer). Quite unusual, but as with all of Green's films, with enough breathtaking moments to make it worthwhile. It's no SNOW ANGELS or PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, but it'll do.
