Danny B (au) wrote: The film never asks you which perspective to take when examining the infamous Polanski sex scandal, but instead focuses on whether or not the man was given a fair trial. More of a meditation on the state of celebrity and the shortcomings of our own legal system, Polanski's choice to leave the country before his "official" sentencing seems justified and completely reasonable by the end. Although the film seems somewhat redundant at times, the meat of the story is what draws in the viewer.
Derek M (au) wrote: A heartbreaking and unforgettable experience that stays with you long after it's over. Gosling and Williams are incredible in their roles. One of the best romance films I've ever seen.
Erik G (jp) wrote: Fairly poor showing for both of the leads. But it could be an interesting "what if orgin" of GhostDog...one of Whitaker's more recent roles. I LOVE Sheryl Fenn, but the story is very un-even and she works best with good structure and direction. Didn't seem to jell here.

Official C (jp) wrote: It's a beautiful-looking and well-acted film, but it suffers from a slowly-paced storyline, a weak screenplay and an over-the-top melodramatic last half hour.
Kate J (br) wrote: This film could have used a lot more character development, but it's a very decent action drama; what The Expendables would have been if it were significantly less silly and better written.
Dogwood D (au) wrote: Touching low budget film about a young Maori girl & her struggle to gain acceptance from her grandfather. A positive role model for young girls. I would have enjoyed more information about Maori culture & current problems, but I suspect that would have caused the movie to be less popular.
James R (ag) wrote: Solid 007 film here, but the franchise was starting to kinda wear thin. This was almost Sean Connery's last film as 007 (he returned 4 years later in Diamonds are Forever). The film is about an American Spacecraft disappearing during its flight. The Americans think the Soviets are responsible. But, meanwhile it's actually Spectre led by 007's arch enemy Ernest Blofeld (Donald Pleasence). Blofeld is using the Americans and Soviets against each other to start a nuclear war. James Bond (Connery) is sent off secretly to Japan and teams up with Tiger Tanaka (Tetsuro Tanba) to find out where Blofeld's secret base of operations is at. The movie has its share of gadgets, one liners and decent action sequences (they haven't aged well). Overall, it's mostly known now a days for the kind of racist depiction they have of Bond becoming a Japanese person (HINT: its terrible). Its a one of the more forgettable missions and lead to the next film grabbing a younger different kind of actor for Bond. Still as a Bond fan I recommend giving it a look!
