Alaa E (jp) wrote: Good direction and story , ... solid performance by Cusack as always .

David W (jp) wrote: Paints a flat two-dimensional view of ultra-orthodox life, unnecessarily demonizing some of its characters. A bad propaganda film at best.

Mike S (nl) wrote: This had the potential of being a great movie. The story was great. The performers were top notch. But Clint Eastwood didn't do a very good job in directing it. The pacing was inconsistent. Why must he ruin movies?! Someone should redo this one - that's a remake I'd be interested to see.

Scott R (es) wrote: It had some great moments with Natalie Wood, Robert Redford, her mother and of course Christopher Plummer. His presence brings with it an authority that is unlike any other actor. It does take things to extremes however and it seems to lose its entertainment value. Instead it seems to want to take a cheap shot at Hollywood and its corrupting influences, but even on this I was not sold. She came from a crazy house and they expected her to act normal, but of course this rarely works out. Redford then turned out to be a pedophile homosexual, which was not shown but merely alluded to, still pretty gutsy for those days. I also got annoyed with her canned singing and lackluster choreography. Some of the songs were catchy though. It could have been much better, but the hopeless suicide attempts and blown up house seemed like an abrupt ending.

Jeff B (mx) wrote: Tremendous performances here, especially from Natalie Wood--who's really on the top of her game in all ways. The story is timeless and well done, with just the right amount of risque-factor that director Elia Kazan excels at hitting.

SV G (de) wrote: One of Crawford's later films - a fair Noir about a woman writer (Crawford) who falls in love with an actor she once passed over for a job (Palance) and they marry. She later discovers he actually is in love with anotherwoman and they are both plotting to kill her. She then stays up all night to script her own plot of both survial and vengenance. Who will survive? Watch and see. Both Palance and Crawford were nominated for Oscars for their roles in this film. For me? One of Crawford's better movies...and Palance is mesmerizing to watch here.

Kem W (au) wrote: This is another Keaton comedic gem. Buster is the son of a crusty riverboat captain. They had never met. Buster tries hard to get his father to like him. The hat shop, the sheriff's office, and, of course, the hurricane scenes are wonderful. Keaton's fascination with boats and set contraptions is given ample room for play. A must see for fans of silent slapstick. Highly recommended for everyone.

Mayank A (it) wrote: Impressive animation, more so considering this was done in 2001, while the story is a let-down, bit too spiritual for a sci-fi.

Deb S (it) wrote: So I finally rented Wild Orchid and this is one steamy flick that probably won't please everybody. I think the sensuality is very erotic. Rio de Janeiro is a truly beautiful setting for sin, and the movie depicts its partying attitude in spades. This movie doesn't lie about its intentions. If you wanted a sexually charged erotic drama/thriller, it doesn't disappoint. Yes, it's pretty slow, but the erotic build-up is very good and the music is sexy and moody. Wild Orchid is Unrated for extremely strong graphic sexuality and nudity. While the film is tame by today's standards, one has to remember that when released in 1990, it was very explicit. OK...maybe it's not the best dialog...maybe it's not the best screenplay...maybe it's not several things! But the female in me can't help but notice that brooding Mickey Rourke was one good looking man and looks extremely sexy on that Harley motorcycle. Smoking Hot!
