(mx) wrote: One of the best Filipino musical-comedy if not the best so far that I've watched. It was entertaining and interesting from start to end. It's main strength are the all-star singer casts who just don't act but sings very well. Even Eugene Domingo and Jaime Fabregas whom I know as great actors only can also be good singers as well particularly in this movie. Eugene has a very memorable scene near the end that will surely make you laugh! It also has interesting themes which most Filipino watchers can relate a lot like family, romance, comedy, life lessons and life realities. No wonder this movie is enjoyable to watch. Plus most of the songs and the movie itself is a tribute to the long-time local OPM band Apo Hiking Society which songs are familiar and dear to Filipino music lovers. This also makes it a great musical movie tribute to OPM songs combined with a heartwarming story.

A downward spiral or chaos with twistedly hilarious moments as well, this is a horror film depicting not the horrors of death or blood or torture, but the horrors of banality.

It had Mick Jagger which gave the film an authentic sort of feel. Not to mention BILL MURRAY in an absolute classic 2 minutes of screen time. It had Dan Akyroyd and John Belushi in hilarious, brief roles. Wicked funny and totally under the radar movie. In my mind the way every fake documentary should be. Completely enjoyable old comedy Monty Python style. 9 or 9.5

Interesting look into the math world and how a child deals with outgrowing and surpassing her father in an area he was supposed to be her adviser and hero in. There is always a certain kind of mourning over a parent who deteriorates mentally and physically, but this movie addresses the issue of forgiving yourself for becoming and doing what your parents always wanted to do; and their let down at not being able to be the hero their child can always look up to.
(ag) wrote: this is great. the special effects are ghetto (a robot that is able to "do and analyze anything" but it still wobbles when it moves). the dude and the half-vampire girl from Lost Boys are in it, and Nathan Petrelli from Heroes when he is young and plays a metal-looking guy who talks to wild birds. everyone traverses the desert on roller skates. overall, you come out feeling like you just watched a post-apocalyptic after-school special.

(es) wrote: Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are simply wonderful together! One great definition of an action buddy comedy, which allot of films these days try to replicate, but unfortunately, don't succeed at like this one does.
