It kept me intrigued, but didn't find myself trying to figure out what's going on. Brought everything together to end well, but not much left open for interpretation (ironically) like his later films.

Why, Disney, why???I think you guys are trying to make interesting sequels just to drive people away from the classic originals. At least The jungle book 2 was the most decent out of them.

Hristijan N (br) wrote: The best out of all resident evil movies. Mila Jovovich is very charismatic as Alice, great action but like in the whole franchise the plot is a mess.

The plot is slippery and sneaks up on you, if you're not paying attention or demand a 1-2-3 textbook arc you may not be happy. I thought it was very organic and satisfying and anyone who thought the movie was too slow just wasn't ready for this clash of styles and youthful sentiment. In particular the feeling of adolescent agony and self-doubt is done better here than in anything I've seen in 20 years; Anna Tsuchiya is a marvel and deserves a much wider audience.

Tero H (kr) wrote: A list of pluses and minuses- quite wooden acting - the plot is just terrible, not believable in the least, and this is by far the biggest minus in this film. - some scenes are outright ridiculous while trying to be believable, I also didn't like that the only two african american people in the film were portrayed as some kind of simpletons, I felt like I were watching Police Academy or The Nutty Professor.+ the best part of the film is the first third - when the killer is a-foot and lurking in the shadows, it was actually pretty exciting.- too much blood & guts in the end - this film needed much more of the stuff its interest actually built on: thrilling stalking stabbing paranoia.Far worse than the first Urban Legends, this might work with richer storyline or less story & more action. What mostly bothered me with the film was that it replaced the thrill with gore. Not great. Lesson no.1: you dont need blood & guts, if you have thrilling chases and knife stabbers lurking in the dark. This one failed, although it had some spooky moments.

Jenna I (de) wrote: What a weeeird movie. Almost as if Harmony Korine and Robert Downey Sr adapted a Coen Brothers movie. I don't know that it was necessarily a good movie as it was an interesting movie.. it unfortunately loses itself in the middle (I think by switching gears to comedy) which leaves the ending mostly confusing. However there's something there worthwhile there about the nature of religion... it's just a little hard to put your finger on it.

Michael S (br) wrote: Well that was depressing, but great none the less. The End is brilliant and the final few scenes are heartbreaking.
