This is a story that's typical Pedro - a family mystery where there are some twists laying around.Gael Garca Bernal plays an actor that's hooking up with an old friend - now movie director. He want something more and he is making several people included in the mix of lies and tricks. It's hard to hang on at times at there are twins, deaths and trans-people everywhere. Lot's of half explicit nude scenes. The gay kind that is.I like some of the effects and the production. The script is complicated but all right to handle - almost like a modern Hitchcock. Superb acting and some great scenes, but this twisted film is not on my top five list from the director. It's a bit disturbing and I lack some connection with the characters and some real excitement. Maybe there is a bit too much of everything here - there are loads of subplots. Gael Garca Bernal makes quite a good looking woman though.6.5 out of 10 lighters.

Ben L (jp) wrote: There's a vibe that feels similar to Charade in this film (although it's not quite up to that standard.) It's not just the presence of Audrey Hepburn either, but it's the playful interaction between her and Peter O'Toole that makes it shine. I don't think they have a ton of chemistry, and the romance seemed to come out of nowhere, but when the writing is this strong I kind of overlook those flaws. The script is great because it has a lot of crazy complexity to everyone's story, and yet it still manages to maintain clear goals and agendas for all the characters. There's a lot of comedy in the setup as we learn all the history of these people, and their art. The laughs distract from the fact that it takes a long time to get the climax going. It did seem like the movie was in danger of dragging on too long, but it never got so bad I would say I was "bored."The 3rd act is when the title of the film comes into play and it transitions into one of my favorite types of movies. I adore a good heist, and this is back in the days before silly electronic gadgets and complex computer systems, so it took some extra cunning. It was so much fun to slowly realize what was happening and to discover their plan. It's made even better by the fact that they have 2 amazing lead actors to carry the story. How to Steal a Million is a fun little romp. It has laughs, romance, and adventure. I commend the script because it is so smart. I miss movies like this that could make you laugh with nothing more than clever wordplay. Also, they gave the film a wholly original setup that was both ridiculous and yet logical. Add in a fabulous cast and you have a movie that I greatly enjoyed, and would like to watch again sometime.

Tom B (jp) wrote: I thought it was awful. Every scene was overly dramatic, people chewing the scenery, and something about a little kid tryna go to school but she keeps jawing with Jobs. Then he walks up on the roof and tries to explain life to her while being interrupted every 2 seconds with some emergency about a square computer that is one micron thicker on one side or some such nonsense. I gave it One Star. I thought it was going to be a documentary but like I said, just way to over dramatic and too lengthy concerning one day (?) in Jobs life, can't recall.
peter h (gb) wrote: On par with the orginal blacula this sequal has some fine well actually brilliant acting from William Marshal alone as Prince Mumblewabe/ Blacul. Again he gives this seemingly shallow role more emotional depth as the black prince but this time around whants to remove his curse of the vampire instend of hunting down his long lost rencartaion of his princess. The plot simple to follow in this film, the story begins with the death of a high voodoo preistess and her son willis claming rightful leader of the group but however the dead preistess name no succesor but the group are determined to vote lisa ( her apprenice)as the new leader. In an act of venegence willis restores the bones of blacula to the deadly vampire. Little to willis knowalge he has just unleashed the deadly curse feind back on to the streets of L.A to start a epedemic of vampires. While at the sme time blacula seeks help of lisa ( pam gier the famous female blaxplotaion star of films like foxy brown, coffy and Quetin tarintiono's Jackie Brown) to set him free. as a whole this film is just as good to the first film but at the same time borrowing a few ideas from the first film. Thankfully this film ended Blaculas short ciemantic run over the space of 2 years which did not let it turn into a typical horror franchise were the films get weaker as they go on . Both of the films are on the same level of brilliance and have found a modern aduiance of 70's expoltaion film buffs. 7/10
