Heather P (ag) wrote: The dialogue for this movie is better than any romance movie I've ever seen. It's witty while still having a natural amount of profanity and innuendo. It's insightful, especially a conversation about Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It's realistic and gender-neutral; not mired by traditional gender roles or stereotypes. This is how real couples express their anger. This is how real couples joke around. This is how real couples have brief moments of true insight before changing the subject to something more light-hearted so as to not think about the uncertain future. This is truly a realistic and romantic movie, and you can see yourself in the characters.

Inga L (fr) wrote: very well made movie about a chapter in history that I had mainly heard of of my grandmother (who was a german refugee in sudentenland when she was young). I like that it was still funny and above all, that it had an amelie-touch on it (just a little bit in that direction). And still, the theme was serious... well made! I have to watch more czech movies!

Ariana M (es) wrote: Aside from some plot holes and lack of Stevie Nicks songs in a movie that worships her (both of which can be chalked up to being a low-budget indie film), this is an incredibly enjoyable movie. It's one of the few movies I know that explores the relationship between a gay man and his female best friend and real life problems that come up. Could it have been improved with a bigger budget and more time? Definitely! But as it is, it's a tiny indie gem, and it shows us Sarah Rue's amazing rack, which is a big deal in itself!

Walter C (ag) wrote: Alejandro Jodorowsky's first feature length film. Lovers Fando and Lis search for the land of Tar in a surrealist landscape. He based this film off of the memory of a play he directed. If you've ever seen the play 'Waiting for Godot' or Jodorowsky's later film, 'The Holy Mountain' then you know what you're getting into with this one. It's a mix of the two. It's never boring and will probably stay with you after you after you watch it but this type of movie isn't for everybody and the female character Lis is constantly being abused mentally and physically during the second half of the film.

David S (jp) wrote: Pitifully boring low-budget film about a lonely man who envisions his favorite actress visiting his ice cream truck and accepting a date with this loser. Only, we come to find, it's all in his head, and we get the simple beginning of his descent into madness and retribution. The actress was a pleasant on-screen draw, and the character of Warren is performed quite well, but this movie just bored the crap out of me.

James B (nl) wrote: Easily DMX's best movie. David Arquette and Micahel Early are good supporting characters in this film. This film is very very grim and brutal, but is a good representation of an insane drug dealer that seduces and addicts women for his personal and financial gain. Intense film with some good plot twists.

Kyle O (es) wrote: Campy, sloppy and fun. The soundrack alone makes me love this flick. The characters come off as saturday night fever rejects and make for some good laughs. As far as D movies go this is one of my favs
