If you want to watch a Dracula movie chose this over the 1990's one or the original. The fact that it takes the most creative liberties from the novel is what in my opinion makes it the best.

Wes S (au) wrote: The plot is a little incoherent and the action never takes off, but this is still a colorful and interesting sci-fi flick. Fun special effects, goofy looking aliens, and some hidden meanings. A bit slow-paced and there are some rushed moments, but it has a decent share of good moments.

(us) wrote: The Secret World of Arrietty is the most refreshingly magnificent and emotionally choking film I've seen in a very, very long while. In fact, so beautiful and heartfelt was this film that I would openly declare it as one of Studio Ghibli's greatest achievements, alongside Spirited away and My Neighbour Totoro.Based on Mary Norton's 'The Borrows', so whilst not entirely original, the film is so sweet and sombre its impossible to not be moved by what is happening on screen. From the captivating Arrietty to the sincerity of Shawn to the incredibly deep messages that pulsated in a film confined to the recesses of a single house. Both Will Arnett and Amy Poehler, especially, do a sensational job conveying the worried and cautious parents of the titular character. So powerful was this film that I was more moved here than with the likes of Pixar's 'Up', which I know for many is virtually impossible. What's more the story is so quaint, so lacking in major plot developments that the film manages to carry itself by the sheer sincerity and urgency of it's characters. It was an experience that found me, by the end, almost in tears. Something that is almost impossible given I'm a little cold when watching emotional films. The next compliment, there are many, goes to the film's lush, gorgeous, vibrant and simply stunning animation. The hand-drawn style is something that Disney and Pixar fail to use as a result of the CGI boom, but this feature demonstrates the importance of hand-drawn, traditional animation. And does it with a bang at the heart.I must also dedicate an entire paragraph to the sheer brilliance and abundantly sorrow sweetness of the film's soundtrack. Never has an animated soundtrack captivated me so since Toy story. Even then, this feels more personal, elegant and heartfelt. There, I said it. In fact, if I'm going to be honest, I haven't heard a better soundtrack since 1994's The Lion King. Yes, prepare the torches. What is entirely astonishing to me is how this film failed to earn an academy award nomination, let alone win? This film is miles better than Brave in every sense of the word. The ending was so unexpected, so bittersweet, so sombre that I was taken aback, caught off-guard, honestly surprised. The relationship Arrietty has with Shawn is one of trust and respect, and she was wholly humanised as opposed to a one-dimensional 'curious rule-breaker,' something the Academy Award winning brave forgets. From a story from the ever-reliable Hayao Miyazaki, director Hiromasa Yonebayashi directs with such sweet sensitivity and sensibility that he takes Miyazaki's story to an entirely new realm. The question of whether this film is a masterpiece boils down to one question: would I want to watch this every day? More specifically, would I want to watch this over the likes of 'Up' or 'Frozen'? I know my answer.

Michael V (kr) wrote: While Luke Wilson has never really got my attention he has done a movie now and again that does. This being one of them. Middle Men is not your typical Luke Wilson comedy. It's much rather Guy Ritchie meets Martin Scorsese. That's not a bad thing by any means. What Middle Men will do is keep you entertained and engaged from beginning to end. The cast is pretty impressive with James Caan and Kevin Pollack also lending their talents. Most of the actors in this are here for a scene or two but they all work and blend into the story nicely. Everyone played their part well especially Giovanni Ribisi's performance as the coked up Wayne Beering. His mannerism's and habit's were entertaining. It's an intelligent film full of dark humor about pornography and crime rings. My only gripes with Middle Men would be the pacing of the story, I felt if they had a longer runtime it would have flowed through effortlessly. They are minor issues though, they balanced the comedy well with the crime elements of the plot. It should be said that Middle Men is very underrated.
