Faces of Death III

This third installment focuses largely on serial killers, with lengthy re-enactments of police investigations of bodies being found in a dumpster, and a staged courtroom sequence with Schwartz again making a cameo appearance as the serial killer on trial for raping and murdering a girl, allegedly captured on video. Robin W (fr) wrote: This movie is slow. And on top of that there is absolutely NO conclusion. I have no idea what happened. The credits start to roll and I'm like WTF? I really like John Turturro so it's disappointing that this is such a crappy movie.

Michael B (es) wrote: Some good moments but all in all not that special. There are better college comedies out there but it was relatively enjoyable.

Brad S (it) wrote: I always enjoyed this B-movie. it has a great cast with Bill Pullman, Oliver Platt, Bridget Fonda and Betty White, and also a twisted sense of humour. it is somewhat similar to "Tremors". Don't take it seriously and you'll have fun, it also has gorgeous scenery.

Robert D (es) wrote: Not a weak performance in this brilliant piece. Judy Dench is especially fine as Elizabeth I.

Ben F (au) wrote: I really enjoyed "Thunderheart." It was a fairly satisfying film for a few reasons. I really enjoyed the idea of the movie, and I think that Apted put a lot of work into this production, and I also enjoyed the performances. Though at first the film may not seem particularly sincere, it is. Val Kilmer is like a quarter Native American, so he goes undercover onto a reservation to uncover a murder that took place. He takes a lot of hostility from the citizens, other law enforcement officers, and some outlaws. But his ultimate goal is to find who did it. Along the way, he discovers things about himself, his heritage, and he ultimately gains a respect for what he has. It's a pretty good idea for a movie, and it's executed fairly well. This is probably one of Val Kilmer's best movies, without a doubt. As I said, the acting was pretty good. I felt that Sam Shepard and Graham Greene were both awesome. They put up fine performances. Kilmer was alright too but nothing special. Actually, he was pretty good here, I'll give him that. The acting was solid. The movie uncovers a mystery and then it gets intense. It flows pretty well, and you'll be on the edge of your seat in a few areas. It runs like a regular action movie, but it's substance is pretty original. That's probably the best way to describe this film. On paper, it seems like just your ordinary action movie with Val Kilmer, but on the inside, it contains a plot and overall idea that's pretty sentimental and from the heart. "Thunderheart" is definitely a movie to check out.

David L (br) wrote: Man goes for job interview, man gets stuck in traffic jam, man takes a short cut, man crashes into strangers, everyone gets hunted by freaks - Simples! Maybe embarassing to admit, but i loved this film. It doesn't have the reputation, or star names that perhaps other horror series' have got, but it does have all the essentials that make a classic; an array of victims, a bunch of freakish psychopathic inbreds, grisly deaths, and a host of scares up until the end. Sometimes, i think a little bid of bad acting thrown in for good measure completes the classic horror make-up too. I found it gripping from beginning to end, and it's one of the few films that i'd recommend to a fellow horror fan. I've quite happily watched this film several times now, and would be more than happy to subject fresh blood to it. Never have I witnessed a villain so camp, yet intimidating, like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's rat catcher on ecstasy, but this film has it all. Arguably a slow starter with a number of the clan then being polished off in quick succession, suggesting that this movie will end before it has even got going, so I'd say it could have done with a few more numbers to bulk it up a bit. Nevertheless it does calm down and develops into a full blown solid cat and mouse horror, peaking at the right times, before leading us gratefully into a sequel. With five more of these beauties available to watch, the future sure as hell is bright!
