They conveniently end the "doc" at 1996 when Oasis was on top of the world. There was no struggle, no lessons learned, and no understanding of what these two goofs were staying in the archival footage. I'm truly amazed and grateful that these two inebriated losers could produce some phenomenal music. This movie is not a documentary. It's a gratuitous pat on the back of two caustic adult men with daddy issues.

I think it might be kind of hard to get into this if you are not into the sloppy early punk rock because there is a lot of concert scenes. If you can handle it though check it out. I also saw The Germs when they came through town this summer which Shane West singing and it was pretty awesome.

This is very loosely based on the 'Dylan Dog' series of comics (emphasis on 'loosely') from Italy. Rupert Everett is the "Dylan Dog" character (whose name here is Francesco Dellamorte) who must tend the cemetery where the dead rise after seven days of being buried. There's not really much a plot to speak of, just a premise with a series of increasingly weird and gory gags as the groundskeeper slowly looses his grip on reality while meditating on the meaning of life and death. But you know, it works. A sick sense of humor coupled with some schlock, romance, fantasy, and surrealism...how many movies can boast that?
Dave S (ru) wrote: There's a good idea in here somewhere, and some of the visuals are really striking. But those both get buried under too much slow pacing and vague storytelling, leaving us only sort of introduced to the characters and overexplaining a complex mythology while not really explaining it all that well. They also spend too much time on the investigation subplot instead of what I'd call the actual action of the story.

Jacob B (ag) wrote: Edward Scissorhands is an amazing film which started a beautiful friendship between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and is shown to have a story worth telling, humour, heart, drama and the great visual style one would usually come to expect from Burton. An unforgettable classic that will be enjoyed by generations for a pretty long time to come as well as a recommendable option for one's first Tim Burton film with a rating stronger than PG.
