Sharon M (br) wrote: its time to think outside the box and start to wean ourselves off of meat and dairy if we want to feed the world, improve our health and save the planet. this can be a hard message to hear when we are inundated with messages that we need meat for protein and milk for bones. we don't. this movie does a nice job of presenting some sound science on the unhealthy and environmentally degrading effects of an animal based diet. Yet the data presented in this movie is only the tip of the ice berg. It wasn't nearly as damming as the UN's report entitled Livestock's Long Shadow which is a more chilling account of the damage that animal agriculture wrecks on our environment. What this movie does a nice job of is present appetizing vegan alternatives via the featured chefs.

Robbie M (de) wrote: Two thirds of the way into this film, an imaginary posse berates the editor-cum-director protagonist for not giving us a reason to care about anybody. Sadly, there is no reason for the final third, either. There is much potential here, and the cinematic love-poem to Barbarella is careful and funny, but this movie is void of a crucial center.
Zach M (ru) wrote: This was a mediocre movie about a rock n roll band that is made up of demons trying to take over a town.People slowly become demons and kill others. There is a random 5 minute boob fondling scene which was something. The music wasn't too bad either. A very cheesy movie from the guy that directed Rock N Roll Nightmare.
Simon T (br) wrote: Unusual and superbly animated story of survival, set during the final weeks of the second world war, and focusing on a couple of orphaned siblings. No wisecracks, no fantasy sequences, the only misjudgment is the American dub. Try to watch it in the original Japanese with subtitles.
David K (jp) wrote: This is the story of two random people that meet in a bar in Chicago in the 1980's and like most 20 somethings start the relationship very quickly & intensely. Their friends are pulling them apart out of fear of losing their friendship as they know it. Rodger Ebert wrote of this film that its not particularly interesting but I have to respectfully disagree with him as it is a very interesting & insightful look at young love...young love that people think is ridiculous and universally unimportant to the overall scheme of life but to the people involved it is very important. Demi Moore and Rob Lowe have great chemistry (probably due to the fact that they were dating in real life) and Jim Belushi is a one man comedy show blending into the cutting humor of the movie perfectly.
Joel A (gb) wrote: Curiously only 26 minutes of footage has survived of this once 83 minute early Italian Sci Fi.Although incredibly dated the robot used for the film is quite inventive & clever for 1921. It would be interesting to see a clearer print since what footage that's available isn't too flash. For it's own right it's very entertaining & enjoyable to see the Large Robot cause havoc on the town.

Tatiana M (mx) wrote: Oh boy! This one sucked so much! Frankly, all these "brave-kids-saving-nature-from-evil-people" stories piss me off. And the music score is awful. Aside from some forest shots, and really beautiful nature this movie sucks!

Josh L (ag) wrote: Not sure what happened here, but this is not the Mad Max I remember from the first two films. It makes sense though because after doing some research this wasn't originally a Mad Max film, but rather a Lord of Flies film. They changed their mind and had George Miller direct the stunts (which there's barely any compared to the first two films) and had George Ogilvie direct the actors. The first half of the film was fine, but the second half is boring, uneventful, and messy. You can tell there's two different ideas clashing because none of the second half of the film matches anything else in the franchise. I've seen people call this Mad Max for children and that is rather accurate. This just doesn't feel like it belongs with the first two at all. A sad way to end the original Mad Max series before it got rebooted.
