(it) wrote: Not even my crush on Jaime Camil could really save this one, though that's not to say it was unenjoyable... If you're looking for a romantic comedy with an attractive male lead interested in a woman who at least cares about more than just romance you won't be disappointed at least. Unfortunately everybody but the male lead comes across as pretty flat and emotionless, Rachael could have been interesting but everybody around her is so one dimensional it takes away from her. Anyhow, I don't know, it's fairly run of the mill if not forgettable. If it had been more romantic or perhaps funnier, or you know what, just less cliche (re: single dad who can't raise a kid on his own without a 'woman's touch,' busy-business woman who can't see anything beyond business, gangster who is owed money, child who is totally content with whatever, hijinks from the bumbling friends, inevitable romance despite shady circumstances...etc), it might have actually shined.

(nl) wrote: This movie kept changing focus. It had an interesting premise (do you keep a child if you know it would be a dwarf) and it gets muddled in the many storyline and continually changing motivations. Plus Gary Oldman is obviously not a midget.
(fr) wrote: A brilliant movie taking a Lovecraft-feel but with a noir world where magic is real and day to day. Fred Ward truly makes a wonderful private eye, and equally grand acting from Julianne Moore and David Warner. If you like this find the sequel starring an older Lovecraft played by Denis Hopper called Witchhunt.

(fr) wrote: Reporter investigates rock legend's mysterious death and lost recording sessions. John Cafferty's soundtrack seems right for both the 60s and the 80s, it's essential to the movie. Easily the best role of Michael Pare's career.
(es) wrote: I saw "The Poseidon Adventure" a few months ago and thought it was a great, classic movie. Therefore, when I found out that a sequel had been made, I couldn't wait to see it. Instead of several people taking a cruise on the luxury liner called the Poseidon, this time around, a few people headed by a captain (Michael Caine), board the capsized and upside down Poseidon in search of plutonium and gold. But it might not be as easy to find the riches and then get off the ship as they first think it will be. "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure" is a decent movie. It has good enough acting, decent special effects, and in parts it's somewhat interesting. However, it's not nearly as interesting or as suspenseful as the original was in my opinion. If you liked "The Poseidon Adventure," I recommend watching "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure," but I don't recommend buying it unless you absolutely have to have it so you can say you own both movies in the series. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2001. Terrible sequel.
