Paul B (es) wrote: A great documentary about a young man with Fragile X Syndrome's families attempts to try and fulfil his dream - to meet Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. Excellently pieced together and heartwarming throughout this is what documentary film making should be.

Huw G (jp) wrote: Very tightly controlled, but ultimately just another gloomy and depressing Aussie crim flick.

Mikey M (ag) wrote: A classically dark and down beat piece of British filmmaking. Spall is terrific as always and this is a fascinating character driven story.

Avid C (us) wrote: My Summer of Love brings the subject of girl-girl romance in a straight forward manner, no fanfare, no fireworks, just a series of event that leads those young women to love.In the same way, drama comes around, but every time you expect the scenario to turn right, it turns left (except for one particular instance near the end). It's nice to see that originality is not dead. You get to love to hate the brother, and you keep on hating him more and more until the end. The end itself leaves you torn between impotence, anger, and sadness. The characters being as they are, who can you blame? Life is not pretty, romances end, and so does that film. It's an easy movie to watch, and its simplicity makes it a good choice. Do not expect big deployments, but the story will captivate you.

Heather M (fr) wrote: This is a rather slow story, but the cinematography made up for that.

Mark R (br) wrote: Prefer "Rise of the Footsoldier" with this being a lot more fictionalized but still a good movie

Miles K (au) wrote: This is a brutal gremlins-type film, and it's actually very good. The FX were cool, It was actually pretty creepy, and the acting wasn't to bad. For the 2,000$ budget, the creature FX were great. My only beef with the film is the ending which, in my opinion should have been a tad different. I would elaborate, but spoilers! So anyway, 6.7/10

Dave G (fr) wrote: In order to gain entrance into the high school clique 'The Sisters,' a young girl must spend the night in a mausoleum. 'The Sisters' arrive and plan on scaring her out, but something else in the mausoleum is ready to wreak deadly havoc on all of them. Yes, I know it's PG, but this is one of the best horror movies out there. When I saw this in the theatre, I was 11, and it scared the crap out of me. Years later, when I watch it, it still holds up - the production design and atmosphere for this low-budget film are incredibly effective, as is the eerie music score. You've also got good performances from a then unknown Meg Tilly, Robin Evans, Leslie Speights and Elizabeth 'E.G.' Daily as the gals in jeopardy. It's also a rare example of a horror film that doesn't need graphic violence and gore to scare an audience. From the opening scenes, you know you are in for a morbid and sinister ride. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Oh, and look out for that yellow toothbrush! :)

Eric B (gb) wrote: Hadn't see this movie till yesterday! This was pretty slick and futuristic for the 80s! Loved it and happy i got to see it on the big screen! Can't wait to see 2049!

Joel M (mx) wrote: 3/10: Flatters to deceive. Unimaginative, boring, full of plot holes and a predictable storyline. Straight to video quality at best.

Marischa B (nl) wrote: Well honestly there is nothing very special in Embrace of the Vampire and it wont make a difference if you skip it....The movie is not scary or thrilling and the climax is quit predictable as well. If you are expecting a little bit of action then you are in for a disappointment. As far as the acting is concerned, its not bad at all..... Sharon Hinnendael who plays the lead as Charlotte has done a fine job (though sometimes she does try to act like Kristen Stewart in Twilight...lolz), the other cast has done a good job as well, I wont say great but good.... The girls in the movie including Sharon show quite a bit of skin so that keeps it a bit interesting ha ha.The plot is simple, an Orphan girl goes to a top grade University for higher studies on scholarship, conveniently the university campus is in a beautiful hilly location, where an innocent Vampire just happens to be waiting for her for past 500 years or so...gah...If you are watching this movie for the story, thrill, suspense or horror element then you will be disappointed. However, if you feel like killing your time or like me you are a fan of vampire movies you might find it watchable.Overall nothing very special..... but I don't think anyone would get bored while watching it
