Buck S (ca) wrote: Albeit far too serious than it's inspiration, Ace Attorney is the greatest video game movie ever made. However, only watch it if you're ready for it's length and knowing that it is really a silly movie.

Paula R (ca) wrote: Excellent acting and very interesting story of the absurdity of blacklisted hollywood. Bryan Cranston was wonderful.

Frederick D (ca) wrote: A Tarkovskian paradox: when watching the film, how you identify demons will give you some insight into how an antagonist is a matter of perspective, telling us more about who we are than what the movie tells us.. Who are the demons in this film? And are they all the same? There is perhaps an allegory of pre-revolution Russian Orthodoxy battling for our heart and minds from post-revolutionary rational self-interest. But between these two forces lies a darkness which poses for us a problem of knowing the difference between good and evil. I counted 3 separate and distinct categories of "demons", depending on the character's perspective.

Matt W (jp) wrote: A little bit on the tedious side by film's end but some nice cinematography and cool shots, as well as an interesting doomed love affair between the hitman and a deaf girl, kept me watching to the end. Not a fan of Cage but I actually thought he was alright in this film.

Adam T (mx) wrote: I championed this second Star Wars prequel on its release because it 'seemed' more in spirit with the classic trilogy than the disappointing 'Episode 1' which, I felt was basically a kids movie sans heart. Then with the release of the quite solid 'Revenge of the Sith', I saw this one for what it was- a turgid, inter-galactic snoozefest with wooden performances, soap opera dialogue, and effects that were too ambitious for the realism they meant to acheive. Or was it simply a case of too much greenscreen for the actors to perform against? The movie is also painstakingly long and demands more attention than it deserves. Also, due to the fact that we know Anakin will turn to the dark side of the force anyway, how can we accept him as a hero? The narrative is kind of pointless (especially against a soppy unconvincing love story) and only serves to bridge the gap to the final act in the Anakin saga.

Jordan K (it) wrote: Noting that I disliked the first film adaptation of the classic sitcom, this one wasn't any better, but it has a more entriguing and less mind numbingly boring story than the original. Humorwise it's still the same grim dark humor. The second and last film makes way for another Addams child, Pubert, as the other kids plot to kill him before being sent to an overly joyous summer camp. The more focused plot is that Fester falls in love with a notorious murderer who kills her husbands after marriage to get their money, although each murder plot falls flat.Obviously the film wanted to leave out the charming aspects of the series yet again and go for grim humor, which is thrown at you everywhere. The film is really not that funny and the majority of characters are really annoying, like the murderer and the camp counselors. If you liked the first, this one lives up to it in every way, but don't bother seeing it if you're expecting a replica of the series.

Minh V (ca) wrote: Tiresome plot. Too many characters with uncleared interaction and development. You don't really understand their relationship and why their purpose. It's also long and drawn out; pacing is also not ideal. The action, especially the last fight is good. But the reason behind the fight is ridiculous and the ending is somewhat unsettling.

Miriam G (es) wrote: By far the best adaptation of Othello I've seen so far. It's rare that everything works in a movie, but every element of this movie comes together beautifully. It may also be the best silent film I've ever seen. I actually like where this movie starts better than in the original script, and I prefer the way the tension mounts more believably in this movie. This is a masterpiece.

Jonny P (nl) wrote: I Wake Up Screaming? is simply amazing. This is definitely in my Top 5 for Film Noir both for its unpredictable story and breathtaking acting. I am dumbfounded by this film(TM)s failure at the box-office. It is perfectly cast as the trio of leads offer wonderful chemistry. I think that I may have fallen in love with Betty Grable a bit while watching this film. Her spunky attitude and big eyes will capture your heart and have you in a trance from start to finish. She is paired with Victor Mature (who has a perfect face for film noir) and Carole Landis (whose performance convinces me that her suicide was a tragic loss to the acting community). The story is enchanting as the guilt shifts from person to person, until the least-expecting ending comes to light. The film uses expert cinematography, particularly with the use of shadows throughout the film. I don(TM)t care that the critics did not care for this film - it is one of the best of it(TM)s genre and should not be overlooked.
