Grant G (de) wrote: A Japanese-language film by Katsuhito Ishii. 5 out of 5 stars for me. A delightful, quirky family-story with moments of comedy, but with sweetness at its core. I'm so glad that I watched this film. Everyone is perfectly cast and this film is masterfully made. If you want to see images of rural Japan, then watch this film; it has locations as endearing as its characters. I HIGHLY recommend this film, even though it appears to have a very weak narrative. A quiet viewing, at night, when the kids are in bed and there are no distractions, it recommended.
Yuri B (mx) wrote: This was alright in the beginning, but when it went left, it went waaaaay left... definitely didn't see that coming from the outset.
Afton L (au) wrote: A well done psychological portrait of a wounded family. The deepest secret still had to be hypothesized and is not overtly stated. Beautifully acted.
Zachary M (us) wrote: I have to say that I really love 70's scifi movies. Back when things like global warming and environmental problems where just becoming an issue a lot of people where just learning about and where rightfully concerned, yet really didn't understand the full concept of the situation. That's where things like Frogs and this movie come in. I have to say this is much better than that movie. It manages to pull off some really genuine moments of tension and the characters, while a bit stock, still felt like they had somethings going for most of them. The actors, especially Leslie Nelson, seem like they're having fun. And seeing so many real animals just puts a lot of joy in my heart. Well worth a viewing if you like these kind of movies, or are a Leslie Nelson fan

Neilio O (jp) wrote: This is such a spectacularly thrilling film about time, responsibility, love, goodness, and the transcendental power of understanding who you are and why you were made. Gordon-Levitt is a captivating hero, and Blunt authentically embodies the relentless love a mother has for her son. Although at times overblown by violence, the film rests firmly within its provocative premise and holds fast to its central question: what choice do you have in who you will become?

Spencer K (br) wrote: it's quirky, unique, sweet and entertaining even if it is very predictable at times. Sally Field is absolutely incredible in the title role. I had enough fun watching this film and it won me over with its charm and sense of endearing nature. worth the time for just sweet, entertaining watch.
