Once the feelings start (at least with Camile) the film starts to soar.....The coffee shop conversations with Stephane are inspired.Love Daniel Auteuil and Emmanuelle Beart......quite a change of relationship compared with their duels in the classic 'Manon Des Sources'. Maybe too much violin play, and the film takes ages to get into.....but i'm glad i did. No one does love, or lack of it, like the French. It's a sophistication that they pull off without being boring.

Craig E (ca) wrote: Unfortunately, it is a film that has not aged well. While it may have been whimsical and funny in its time, it comes off as silly, unbelievable, and with dialogue that is so empty of purpose that it just comes off as filler until the next round of lunacy. Additionally, the acting is so over-the-top and grandiose theatrical -- a product of its time -- as to become distracting for an audience used to actors bringing honesty to their performances. While certainly a curious subject matter, it's far from Hitch's better films.
