Michael H (us) wrote: Don't get the "film maker of his generation" thing about Bujalski. Or the "sculptor of dead air" tag. "Dead air"? Bad acting, more like. Amateurish. Nothing to say worth hearing. The one and half star rating is due to the one and a half live songs from Bishop Allen. Don't give up the day job, Justin.
Arslan K (br) wrote: The environment, the color less look, the setting, the costumes, the acting and the scariness of this film are all great! This film is a treat to look at well aren't all Tim Burton films?
Anand D (mx) wrote: I really like lynch's movies, what i like the most is his unique way of storytelling. We have to think harder just to find out what the hell actually happened once the film is over. Lost Highway is nothing different. A masterpiece.

Kilian Z (nl) wrote: Even if plot is quite weak , the idea of arm-wrestling is quite unique for me & finally the fights are fascinating. This is good sentiments movie that i like to watch because of Stallone who is often a positive & simple (not in a bad way) character. The movie is doing its works but there are too many 80s clich (C)s. I would say this is also the "top gun" of the road.
Chip H (jp) wrote: A bit too melodramatic and not very well acted. Broderick Crawford is under-utiailzed.

That was when the film was made, and when the UK cinema auidences watching it knew that all that separated them from invasion was a few miles of sea. Imagine the impact it must have had!! Plucky Brits, living in the rural English idyll, threatened by the Hun. Having witnessed their brave fight, the auidences must have come out of the flicks wanting to take on the German army on their own. The comparisons with 'The Eagle Has Landed' are easy to make, but just remember that date of 1942. The threat was real to the people watching it, unlike those watching 'The Eagle' for the very first time. Cracking afternoon entertainment, with a message of its time.

Robby K (ca) wrote: For some reason these movies keep getting made, and for some reason they keep making money. "The Choice" is more of the same crap these novel-to-movie adaptation's have been giving us since the first Nicholas Sparks movie was released back in 1999. Every character in this movie is an awful person who we're just supposed to like because "they're good looking". Benjamin Walker is awful in this movie, and I can't tell if it's his acting, or if his character is just that poorly written. Speaking of the writing this might be the most poorly written of all the Nicholas Sparks adaptations... And that's saying something since none of them have been worth anything up to this point. Even the pseudo-cult following that "The Notebook" has can be forgiven now, because at least it's not as bad as this movie. Teresa Palmer is having a good year with films like "Lights Out" and "Hacksaw Ridge" releasing, but this movie really does almost undo all of the good to great things she does in those movies. You just can't un-see this movie. Oddly enough Tom Wilkinson does have a half decent scene in the film, which helps even though it lasts about thirty seconds. Even those who can stand the previous Sparks films may have trouble stomaching this abomination.
