Moving, effecting, and still as enjoyable and funny today, City Lights is a highly imaginative and influential film led by Charlie Chaplin's excellent pantomime performance, but greatly helped by his fantastic direction, and boosted even more by his highly original, thought-out, and possibly even thought-provoking screenplay; however, all catapulted by the overall influence the brilliant filmmaking of this movie creates.

Chris L (ca) wrote: This is like the most violent buddy cop movie ever. The two main leads work well together, Kellan Lutz really does seem like a star in the making. This suffers technically from being an independent production (editing is bad, sound is poor, some scenes are shot so dark it's hard to tell what's happening). If you can get past the violence you'll shrug, leave the theater and probably forget it ever happened.

Robert F (au) wrote: A unique, entertaining, and admittedly badly written clusterf*ck of a movie. Regardless, it's still quite interesting and enjoyable, as pure spectacle if nothing else. Its best aspect is the intentionally over the top and bizarre performances from its cast. Definitely worth watching, just don't expect much coherency.
