(ag) wrote: Big build up with little resolution. Maybe it's my dislike for single setting movies but I didn't enjoy it as much. And in the end (no real spoiler) you find out nothing about who took over the train so there is a huge gap missing.
(br) wrote: Chilean director Pablo Larrain's film is a disturbing portrait of an obsessive sociopath, whose unhealthy obsession with John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever character is almost as scary as his occasional cold blooded murders. Reading up on the films political allegory themes adds an extra dimension, the individualistic, violent and opportunistic tendencies of life under Pinochet mirroring the anti-heros attitudes and dysfunctions. Not an easy or pleasant watch, but the character is up there with the most disturbing of anti-heroes in cinema.
(es) wrote: A pretty horrifying doc. After watching something like this, anybody who still says there's no such thing as evil is really kidding themselves. I don't know what's more disgusting or disturbing, Father Oliver O'Grady or the leaders within the Catholic Church who allowed him to bounce from parish to parish, knowing full-well the things he had done. It's angering to listen to O'Grady speak because, like others have pointed out, you can tell he really has no comprehension of what he's done to his victims' and their respective families. He even borders on facetious in some parts of his interviews. It's as if he thinks he merely ran over their family dog and come back, shake hands with people, and have everything be alright. When people think of evil, most of the time it's some mass-murderer in history that's the prime example. This Father O'Grady is just as repugnant of a human being as any we've seen and what makes it even worse is he doesn't even really know it. This film basically highlights everything that I think is wrong with the Catholic Church. From the religious rituals and requirements that have no basis in Scripture (priests having to be celibate being one of them), to the God-like view that parishioners have of the church's leaders... all of it just spells "trouble".

(au) wrote: Hi, this film is amazing. Anyone who says nothing happens is wrong and has only been watching films made in the last 5 years or something. This is a film that allows you to think and become part of the experience. BLISSFULLY YOURS brought me back to moments in my life I had completely forgotten and made me come to some pretty big realizations about past experiences. How many movies can do that? Recommended, but hardly pornographic. Graphic nudity, yes, but not pornographic.

(gb) wrote: It's David Lynch, what can I say. Imagine Eraserhead and Inland Empire, but with vampires. Her eyebrows were a little distracting, but that's all part of why I love DL. Peter Fonda was awesome, as was the strange pixellation and disjointed dialogue. Well worth the time to watch.

(fr) wrote: It's a fun, cute comedy from the 80s starring John Candy as a hapless man on vacation with his family. It sounds like a Griswold outing, but trust me... it's not. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's an enjoyable hour and a half.
(fr) wrote: Frankly a disappointment. The book is far superior in every possible way. Agree it's not an easy book to transfer to the screen, but they didn't do a great job.

(it) wrote: I'd like to thank this movie for teaching me the following valuable lesson: As long as you are 6'2", cut like a boxer, and have a wealthy parent who provides you with your own penthouse apartment, full-time housekeeper and tutor who will cater to your every whim, you can overcome the horrible misfortune of having some ornate tattoos. Also, as long as you build a gazebo on your roof, you can win the girl of your dreams by stalking her for a few months before eventually kidnapping her and holding her hostage in your apartment.
(kr) wrote: 85%Saw this on 15/11/15Action without violence is like cake without sugar and I absolutely adore violence in films. Michael Caine, the old man who could barely stand in most of the Nolan movies gives a powerful performance in this violent and action oriented film. Caine's acting is splendid when he shows anger in his dialogues, emotions and even with his stares. The film is also an effective vigilante thriller, one that justifies the need for vigilantism in it's story.

(jp) wrote: Visually breathtaking, unrelentingly creepy, and a beautiful design makes Perfume a terrific watch... right up until the bizarre last 30 minutes. I know that they were trying to stay faithful to the book, but they could have done a much better job of setting up the ending. The film established smell as important, but it should have at least *hinted* at the fact that smell can literally control people. Most of the movie = 4/5 stars. The last 30 minutes = 1/5 stars.Compromise: 3/5 stars as a compromise.
