To our generation, Fire in Babylon feels so special, it can't be put down in words. May be a Thank you to Stevan Riley will do for now.Now on Netflix.

base 6 (es) wrote: First of all, I watched this only to see Lauren Cohan, who also plays Maggie on the walking dead, and who added about 4 stars to this rating. She is an amazing actress and takes the role very seriously even with little screen time and the confusing plot of Death Race 2. The scenes not including Cohan consist of mostly regurgitated driving, toyish cars & props, and an entirely unnecessary amount of parkour running being carried out by supposed felons. Sorry Rhames and Trejo but Cohan is the only real actor in this cast.

Sam D (de) wrote: An odd movie...kind of a fusion of John Waters with Rocky Horror and Walking Dead. Gory for sure and not bad as far as slasher flicks. Good for some laughs and giggles along with the creepiness.

Anne F (es) wrote: This has very much the same style as Mies vailla menneisyytta (The Man Without a Past); deadpan acting and little dialogue. Koistinen is a night-watchman in a dead-end job. He has no friends and his work colleagues won't even include him in trips out for a drink after work. He is befriended by a young woman and it becomes apparent that she is not interested in him, but in his job and specificallly the keys to a jewellers' shop....

The Real Kyle C (it) wrote: Vertical limit was a boring and predictable movie. You could easily predict everything that was going to happen. All they did was repeat each scene but change who dies. When the sister got trapped, we obviously knew she was going to get rescued by her brother. At the end of the movie, the explosion to make the hole bigger so they could get the trapped hikers out, that would have killed them. It wasn't realistic. For example, when the brother jumps across the cannon thinking hes superman, he would have snapped his arms and not lived that jump. Onto special effects, I thought it was good. The explosions looked real and the helicopter scene looked realistic. The greenscreening also was good. It really looked like they were on top of that mountain. Overall, the story line was weak, it was to predictable, and they tried to play a love story in the middle of a thriller. It doesn't flow well. I give it a 4 out of 10

NCC1701D N (us) wrote: Obscure, underrated, and inventive comic book movie. Moves briskly with a lively pace, striking and meticulously crafted production design, super catchy music, and some deliciously hammy performances.Visually, it's a gaudy pastiche of 60s Russ Meyer and James Bond movies with the 60s Batman TV series, but I found it less silly and more consistently enjoyable than the latter two. More a triumph of style over substance, but never stupid or boring and always entertaining.

Bill B (ag) wrote: This was a helluva lot of fun, opening with a first person perspective as Bogey escapes jail, and we never see his face until after he undergoes surgery to go into hiding, plus we get the Lauren Bacall hotness as well, what's not to love?Great film, recommended.

Scott C (ru) wrote: Inspiration for Woody Allen's Small Time Crooks. Edward G. Robinson can't go wrong.

Hugh J (mx) wrote: It's a decent flick with a great performance by Famke Janssen but the whole melancholy vibe doesn't sit well with me. Especially the end. Just a lot of shit that didn't need to happen, which would have prevented it from going down the way that it did. Shame.
