(nl) wrote: The animation isn't very good, but the design of the world, the atmosphere, the music, and the detail to the plot is something you just don't get out of the typical family trite you get from Pixar movies.
(us) wrote: based on a true story. i'm sure they took a bunch of creative liberties with it, but who gives a shit. this was pretty good.
(it) wrote: Even though this film was not fit for a tremendous box-office success, as long as James Marsden is playing the lead, I could be able to repeat watching this movie over and over again. Such a great and versatile actor!
(it) wrote: you knew all along that Tim Robbins was nefarious, but I felt like the movie moved too quickly at parts, leaving you clueless as to his motivations and leaving him to be "evil with no background." still enjoyed it though.

But Geoffrey Rush is always brilliant to watch and Jim Sturgess is very good also. Great production values for a movie set in the world of art and antiques. Good to see Donald Sutherland too.

Some of the barely there cameos could've honestly been excised altogether without really missing out on anything, but overall it was a fun little watch and will probably be one of those movies I find myself getting fished into on cable, just because it's a fun ride..Plus it's amusing to see all these guys try to out-quirk one another for an entire film, so give that a look to see who's the corniest, as they all have their silly moments.Give it a rental.
