Paul W (au) wrote: I have just seen this movie and I must say I am very positively surprised. At the beginning I was a little anxious about the way it was going to turn out but it was very refreshing over all. It has some cheesy/clich touches to it but that makes it only more fun. It sent me back to my school days. It has a lot of themes running through out. Action and comedy are the prominent ones, however these is also some romantic moments which really work well together with the few sad scenes where you just want to cry. It also has a little twist to it which I thought was interesting. This movie is definitively bound to make you laugh even though acting of the secondary characters was not the best I've seen; their only kids after all.

Valentin A (au) wrote: Lars von Trier dellivers an eloquent anecdote of life in a completely successfully experimental way. Dogville offers us more emotions and brilliant, yet ordinary ideas than he could fit on a cheap, grey studio. The best way to describe Dogville is to assume it shows us the ugliest face of life, just to make us realize how wrong we were: it was, in fact, the only face of life.

Mark N (kr) wrote: Gilliam's early ventures into movies are a mixed bag and it takes a certain mind and stance to appreciate what he does and what he tried to do. Jabberwocky is an uneven masterpiece with an amazing cast of actors that will be familiar to fans of British comedy during the 70's and 80's. Often unfairly compared with the Python movies (it could almost be the same universe as Holy Grail) it is instead it's own surreal exploration of the dragon killer story. While not perfect.. the imagery, characters and scenes are memorable and well shot.
