Jan Marc M (ag) wrote: Depicting the mass decimation of Armenians by Ottoman Turks in 1915, The Lark Farm genuinely exposes the relationship of identity and violence. The excessive loyalty to identity is the centripetal cause of violence, most evident in human world history. Profound. Piercing.

Emily S (fr) wrote: I think the biggest problem with this movie was the long silences encouraged you to fill in your own dialogue (which was entertaining, but probably not the point) Bonus points for gnome usage though.

Christopher B (br) wrote: Touching and gritty film about Japan. Without knowing a lot about Japan culture I still enjoyed it, but I'm sure the more you know about Japan the more you would appreciate this film.

Donna L (ru) wrote: weird and funny .. I've seen it two times.

Brad S (ru) wrote: I had never seen this one before. It's fairly dated with both wardrobe and dialogue, but still found it fairly entertaining...Clint is his usual persona, and there's some good stunts and nice scenery, give it a try!

Jeffrey M (gb) wrote: Capturing the inherent tragedy and intrigue of the controversial autobiography, A Dangerous Mind is an adaptation worthy of watching. Directed by George Clooney, the film has a distinctive feel, almost surreal in parts, capturing the apparent erratic and strangely brilliant nature of its subject, TV producer and purported CIA assassin Chuck Barris. Starring Sam Rockwell, his performance envelopes the screen and the Barris persona. Liberties are taken, to be sure, but the heart of what the book was trying to get across was captured. Once more, the Clooney film added to the story what was otherwise missing--relatable relationship dynamics and even greater drama. Especially effective was the cut-ins with real-life interviews.4/5 Stars

Joseph C (ag) wrote: Of all of the conventional monster genres (vampire, zombie, scientific aberration, etc) werewolf is more often associated with coming of age, eg, Neil Jordan's "The Company of Wolves," Landis' "An American Werewolf in London," and this present title. I appreciated how decisive the film's perspective was -- it's dark, cynical, "goth," in the popular sense of the word, and rather unsympathetic. It's cinematography is likewise. I don't think it works as well as Landis' film because the sense of tragedy and giddy mayhem is absent, and it doesn't have the whimsical symbolism of Jordan's film, either. But, the kind of characters in the film are relatively atypical, and I enjoyed the variety. If you love anything werewolf, by all means, check it out. It should, at the very least, keep your interest.

Brandon R (ca) wrote: When you are still quoting lines from a movie three years after it came out it says something about funny and great it was. This was a hilarious comedy that will never be repeated in terms of greatness in a comedy.
