The story of a great rivalry between a father and son, both eccentric professors in the Talmud department of Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The son has an addictive dependency on the embrace and accolades that the establishment provides, while his father is a stubborn purist with a fear and profound revulsion for what the establishment stands for, yet beneath his contempt lies a desperate thirst for some kind of recognition. (gb) wrote: Quirky and disappointing, this is a movie that anyone can and should avoid, unless you are a writer. A writer might enjoy, relate or appreciate this film. The constant close ups and shaky camera work due to its low budget portrayal, coupled with a lack of plot, leaves you ruing the two hours you wasted on this movie. The lead has such a small character arc when all there is in the movie, is this arc, that you want to throw a shoe at him. The movie starts out well, but within a few scenes, it drifts away leaving you helpless.

(mx) wrote: great movie, great story, good mob movie although underrated, nice nude scenes (yes plural) from Nicole Kidman who looks amazing, a bit of Mrs Robinson in the story, ironically in a movie with the "graduate" himself, Dustin Hoffman brilliant as usual, and it was nice to see Steven Hill as another character than the all powerful Adam Schiff from Law & Order

(it) wrote: in the far of year of 1985 (thats right) 8 astrouants (seven men and a woman) go to venus to explore the orgins of a alien spool found in the Gobi desert. After a long dull trip to venus , the fearless crew discover the truth of the dead planet with suprisiing gooey results when space glop chases a few of them. The most notable thing about this eastern eurpoean SIC-FI film is it's mutli cutural cast and Tim Burton styliesed venus sets other wise its dull in parts, with poor dubing , confusing dialouge and hard to follow plot. Still one of the best B sci-fi films to emerge from the 1950's B-grade sci-fi crase. 3/10

Living in the North with the Confederate Army about to attack they are presented with the question of breaking from their core belief system of no violence at any cost or protecting themselves and their home. The eldest son is played interestingly by a very young Anthony Perkins. The movie despite the theme is mostly light-hearted and with some heartwarming scenes that all underneath it all demonstrates each family member's struggle daily with what the world presents them and what their religious beliefs asks of them. Nicely done.
(gb) wrote: The last quarter of the movie was such a let-down that it ruined it for me (1 star)Prior to that, the movie was an outstanding drama/action with deep characters, inner conflict and a great story (5 stars)
(fr) wrote: Looks funnier than the first already. The music in the trailer is an instant turn-off - one is reminded of the original and how unfunny and dull it was but the content in the trailer proved to be satisfying and hilarious and that's just a peek!
(br) wrote: Despite the overly cheesy ending which spoils everything, 'Below' has a scary atmosphere and several good performances. Still it needed a few more scares and a little more emphasis on the story than the attempted commentary on war.
